So, I usually RP on Alliance in MG. I recently had to take a hiatus, and when I came back, my guild was on a Hiatus (Everyone got burnt out.) So, I decided to jump on WrA on one of my old Horde toons. I am very interested in RPing my Orc Warlock, but unfortunately I can’t figure out how to RP him exactly. I honestly am not a fan of RPing a warlock per say, but I do LOVE orcs, so can you folks think of any way I could RP this guy without saying he is a fel-slinging, demon enslaving Old coot?
Maybe you could rp him as an orc in his older years who looks back on his darker path with regret. In his youth he used the fel with wild abandon to unleash unmerciful havoc on his enemies. Now, at the end of his life, he is shamed and seeks atonement for his previous sins- but the fel burns deep within him, and even now it beckons. Maybe repentance is beyond his reach. But he struggles onward, hoping it isn’t too late.
I have an orc in a story like that but never rped it. Maybe something along those lines would be more fun than just being evil? Tragic characters have always been more interesting to me. Anyway, welcome and good luck!
I thought of a somewhat interesting orc warlock perspective a while ago, though it would on that ‘demon-enslaving’, but with more reason behind it. I had wondered if some orc warlocks actually used their powers to spite the Legion. Before, the demons had taken control of the orcs and used them for their own purposes. But now now the Warlock has turned the tables, and is now harnessing and enslaving demons for there good of Azeroth. In some ways, it would be the most powerful mockery of the demons. It could be seen less as ‘consorting with your former masters’ and more of using those that wronged you and your people to better the world. Maybe some more personal tragic backstory caused him to make this his mission. Regardless of what route you choose for him, I wish you luck. Always good to see another warlock running around!
Orcs, and especially orc warlocks, are responsible for some of the most heinous things to ever happen in the Warcraft setting. Does your character reject, excuse, or embrace this legacy?
Your character is a member of an organization, who has recently gotten a new leader. However, your character believes that this new leader is wildly unqualified for the job. Does your character still follow their orders?
Your character has someone at his mercy who committed a horrible crime against him. How, if at all, does he punish this person?
Does his idea of a proper punishment change if the crime is petty?
A person of whatever gender your character prefers (if any) approaches him in private to express romantic feelings toward him. How does he react?
By altruism, self-interest, or accident, your character saves the life of an unimportant peasant person. However, afterward, instead of expressing gratitude, this person curses and spits on your character for being a warlock. How does he react?
Does your character respect Sylvanas? Vol’jin? Garrosh? Thrall? Orgrim? Grom? Kargath? Why or why not?
Through some circumstance, your character is charged with the care of a young child. However, this child is physically frail and sick, and will depend on the care of others for their entire life. What does your character do with the child?
Does your character care about the people or souls sacrificed in their rituals? Does he go out of his way to only use the souls of people who “deserve it?”
Your character receives news that he will die in twenty-four hours’ time. To the best of his knowledge, this information is accurate and inevitable. What does he do with his last hours?
Answering these questions will tell you a lot about your character. Good luck!
