Could unlock Rank 3 essence 5 minutes ago, now i randomly can't?

I had a selection of rank 3 essences available for purchase before doing the weekly N’zoth Asssault. Now i return to purchase the essence and it says i have to have that rank 3 essence on…one of my ALTS? Is this working proprerly because it makes no sense to me.
