Could Deathwing be also one of the "Old reliables"?

Seeing as he called himself the Lord of Death, Master of destruction, the World Breaker and he was a “Great Protector of the land” before he was corrupted. Meaning he has a chance of redemption and which would mean he would be thrown into Revendreth. What do you guys think?

I don’t know how giving yourself titles means you can be redeemed, but I highly doubt it. Deathwing probably went to one of the other infinite afterlives.

wasn’t Deathwing completely destroyed as to stop N’zoth from just resurrecting him?

If the Shadowlands can cure madness? Yes. If not? then that simply means no redemption for him.

He was obliterated physically, but I’m not sure if his soul was annihilated. I think the Dragon Aspects, particularly Nozdormu, used a lot of their power to make sure that moment could never be undone.

My thinking was that he was removed completely from existence when he was exploded by the dragon soul. but I wouldnt be opposed to him coming back, I love(d) deathwing. this is WoW afterall so they could use any excuse to bring him back.

it makes me curious, if he is in shadowlands, is he in human form? can he transform into a massive dragon in the shadowlands?

Deathwing is not in the shadowlands. His soul was devoured by N’Zoth before he even died. When N’zoth finally died any fragments of Deathwing that might have been left inside N’zoth were destroyed along with the old god.

I think it refers to his pride.

Deathwing soul was taken from him a long time ago. So when we killed him he did not go to the shadowland but instead the void.

i could see it. before the death wing we know today he was neltharion. the earth warden. protector of azeroth.
he just went crazzzzy taxy with nzoth giving sweet whispers.
i think he could be but my question is, what form is he in? big ol dagon version or tiny hooman version?

I’m not opposed to seeing Deathwing in shadowlands. A deathwing without the whispers of N’zoth would definitely want to atone for his sins. Honestly I think he’d be more depressed than angry - he essentially destroyed everything he cared for, and did some pretty horrendous things to people he loved. Denathrius would be more working off of Deathwing’s pain, his regret, and his determination to atone for anything he’s done, even as Denathrius piles foreign sins upon Deathwing’s soul.

The one problem I have though, is that dragons are so…horribly hard to write, in my opinion. They always come off as bland and soulless, (save for Wrathion, my lovely little pan icon) and I don’t think that Blizz knows where they want them. How do the dragons feel about their place in the world? About themselves? Do dragons have personalities??

I feel like if we’re going to bring him back, they better do a damn good job of fleshing out his personality and character.

His soul is hiding in Xalatath dagger. We only killed a part of his body.

I honestly don’t think we have seen the last of N’zoth. At the same time i’m sure the Void Lords could pump out more Old Gods for us to defeat easily as raid bosses.

Edit: As for Deathwing I think he’s gone unless he’s swimming in the void somewhere

unless his madness was cured i see Deathwing going to the maw because a being of his power would probably be difficult to contain

I’m pretty certain they do. Dragons have important roles on Azeroth and they serve their purpose.

Like a frying pan? Is Wrathion like a cook or something?

Absolutely? Have you ever seen a Dragon in WoW? Do you not remember Vethir from Legion? Chromie? Ysera? Kalec?

It’s like you’ve never seen a dragon in WoW.

ACK GOODNESS YOU’RE RIGHT

Sorry it’s just been like, ages since I’ve seen a dragon. Wrathion’s been like…the sole dragon this whole expac besides a few cameos by the dragonflights.
