While I understand where you are coming from, the system does work.
I’ve spent many weeks during Beta / PTRs on petitioning Blizzard to turn the Valentine’s Day Gas Mask item into a cosmetic item, which eventually they did. (cue Fox Mulder from X-Files): #Iwanttobelieve
While many things people ask for are ridiculous, the best way to make sure you never get anything you want is to never ask for it.
Since they still won’t give us armor, permanent visage would only be fair (outside of, like you said, deep breath/soar etc). But we should always shift back to visage inbetween dragon spells.
Being on a regular mount as a dragon looks absolutely absurd. Please have us auto shift before mounting.
You and everyone else who did that are amazing lol. I never thought I’d use the mask, so wasn’t a part of the crowd, but now that it is I’ve got it used in two different mogs for different alts, and part of my love for playing them comes from the theme I’ve got going for them (my undead hunter is even rocking ‘undead’ pets).
If I ever get into testing before TWW’s release, I’ll definitely submit a suggestion based on this thread, because Blizz definitely won’t make it happen if they don’t see a desire for it.

Dont know if everyone has seen it but enchanters in TWW can create an item that turns your character into another race for up to 60 minutes. Every playable race is included, both horde and alliance. This is almost exactly what we have been asking for our Visage form to be able to do >_<.
I’ve added this to my daily feedback on the visage forms, maybe we can change their mind…
For those interested, this is pretty much the wanted solution for being able to play Evoker as any race without Dragon-Form since the item overwrites it. Only downside is the cooldown of two hours when the maximum duration is 60 minutes, but I’ve started giving feedback for them to reduce it to 60 minutes and stop being anti-fun.
