Since I don’t have alpha access, I will make the post here. I recommend adding back quivers and ammo pouches to the game as a cosmetic item (assuming it would be to difficult to balance quivers and ammo pouches if they had actual stats). We should have:
Back quiver
Hip quiver
Ammo bag/ pouch.
Whether or not you want to keep them spec locked (back quiver for MM only, ammo bag for BM, hip quiver for SV only (usually real life crossbow bolts don’t go in a back quiver…) I’ll leave that up to you, though I’d rather allow all 3 specs the choice to chose whatever quiver/ammo bag they want. You could create “plain” baseline cosmetic quivers/ ammo pouches that the hunter can get in the class hall/ store or quest for little effort. And you can make really nice looking quivers/ ammo pouches locked behind some challenge, epic quest, really long quest etc…
It is purely for flavor, it would not affect game play but it adds a nice bit of immersion to the game.
Would honestly love more of these, even if they were basic because as it stands now, only Thas’dora has a quiver model with it.
This would not really work with current bow animations.
I haven’t used a gun in so long, I’m not sure how well it would work with guns, but I’d still like to have these.
It’s not necessarily going to happen, but a few weeks ago, a string was datamined implying that we may be getting the ability to xmog shoulders individually.
I would cry tears of joy if they added cosmetic quivers back into the game. On a side note, if I use the Warden toy (Sira’s Extra Cloak) on my nelf hunter it shows the old school quiver model on my back. Not sure what’s up with it but it shows that the files are still in the game and could possibly be turned on/updated.
Yeah the cosmetic stuff is kind of there and clearly we know the art team is more than capable of adding cosmetic class stuff but I assume that there are clearly more pressing issues blizz wants to work on. They kind of half did it in Legion with holy pallies and MM hunters then forgot about it come BFA…That being said, adding a nice bit of flavor, a bit of immersion would be nice.
I’d love an ammo pouch. It’s one of the reasons I chose the belt I have for transmog. My friend and I were pretty excited when they became available. It just adds to your character in a subtle way since all adventurers could use pouches to store various things.
