$580 case but you can put 2 PCs in it, an ATX for the main setup and a mini itx right on top of the main PCs PSU

For the 2nd pc build you can put a SFX PSU in the back, both PCs have their own power switches and reset buttons. As seen with this picture

I’m planning on another build for the upcoming Zen 4/Ryzen 6000 series coming out next year.

I already have the main PC set up in mind.

For the 2nd PC I thought building a really old, ancient mini ITX system to upload Windows XP on it. I have some old games that doesn’t work on current PC parts today.

Windows XP does not have SATA drivers from their install disk so I’m stuck to IDE hard drives if anyone remembers those ancient hard drives

Luckily I have a few of these ancient parts, for the motherboard I may have to go on eBay/Amazon for an Intel Atom mini itx setup such as this for the IDE port on motherboard

https://www.amazon.com/Intel-D945GCLF2-Essential-Integrated-Processor/dp/B001CK96QG

I already have a Windows XP OS disc with a key been holding on to that for who knows how long.

No bay ports for a disc drive so a usb DVD rom may have to work to install stuff over a disc.

Do you think todays SFX PSUs should be ok for old obsolete parts?

Your thoughts on this 2nd PC setup I plan to do? The case in general?

If you have the budget, why not? ITX setup to save power.

if im getting an intel atom motherboard it shouldn’t even use a lot of power to begin with right?

i3-10100 setup idles around 20ish watts. Atom has low power consumption but performs worse than Pentium.

I don’t really see the point unless you want one specifically to help with streaming duty or something

I don’t stream, I just thought of having the 2nd pc for ancient games that doesn’t work with modern parts/Windows 10 today.

Thought of this case in particular because how massive and unique it is. Thought maybe it be better to put two PCs in 1.

That could work I guess for retro stuff.

does your old games require a powerful gpu? Might be able to get by with something like an inwin chopin if you can just use igpu to run your old games.

See thats the problem, it doesn’t house IDE hard drives, windows xp does not like SATA during the install.

Like it will boot up the disc and start loading, but after a certain % of loading up the files it goes wack and you’re force to restart.

How does emulation work in comparison

It works under a VM setup but it lags horrible.

I would prob. just assemble an actual retro system instead. Would also add to the retro feel.

Another option is Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2.

Significantly cheaper than 1000D.

I had one of the big corsair cases around 10 years ago. It was the old 800D and that thing was MASSIVE. This case looks like it dwarfs that one too. Just be aware of what you’re buying because even though it sounds awesome to have something that big it might not be as practical as you think. No joke you could probably have two PC’s take up less room than that case.

I had a corsair 750D and even the was too big for me. Gave it away

Wow I just looked it up

way cheaper, the difference is you need a special PSU and they offer it, you can run two setups with 1 psu

1200w psu is expensive but the 1000w is still available, these two parts are cheaper than the case alone plus a SFX PSU.

Thanks for showing me this.

maybe in the future the 1200w should be lower in price I suppose, maybe I should wait for the 1200w instead since both PCs will be powered by 1 psu and both will be turned on

Welcome. Phanteks has been making multiple dual system cases. There are other models for you to explore.

Yeah, 1200W PSU is extremely overpriced. There is power splitter too
