Saw the new video of 30 tanks stacking a bunch of T-devs, vitas, and strengths to hit the bosses on heroic for absurd amounts of damage. Like they even beat out a few dps on some fights in terms of top parses. I swear corruptions have and always will be a prime meme and example of too much borrowed power. This is even funnier than the infinte stars oneshot in the blizzard sanctioned PvP event. NIce to see that people are memeing the heck out of them at this point. Going to feel like a massive power down when we get into shadowlands and lose our corruptions, although they could somewhat be useful given the extreme broken nature of them XD.

This is only absurd because of the essence strengh of the warden giving 3% more bonus hp to all tanks in your group. Tanks get to more than 2M hp by stacking tons of tank, and twillight scale with hp. They definitly could just put a hard cap on the 3% hp buff and that would atleast reduce this meme a lot.

Oh I know, they literally stacked a ton of stam items, essences and abilites to pull it off, I think the highest someone got was like 5 mil health. It literally just showcases the absurd unbalance nature that is WoW right now given you can do that.

I never understood why people used corrupted gear. I remember when 8.3 first released and I got my first piece I immediately cleansed it and every other piece I found I have done the same for. I finally got around to getting my tank geared up because my friend wanted to get gear for her Druid and Priest classes and I neglected to do the mission that opens cleansing up and was running around with corrupted gear and having those debuffs proc near constantly was driving me nuts. I honestly do not know how people put up with it.
Unfortunaly we need to use them in order to push bosses and keys on the upper difficulties given the power and damage boosts help a lot. I get why some people don’t like to use them due to the negative extra effects, yet they are needed to push endgame content at a level.

That’s the understatement of the year. They were doing like 100k dps single target.

I feel like at this point of an expansion its okay for things to get silly and fun.
It’s like a little send off to BfA and people can keep playing around with breaking things/pushing limits until SL time.
Plus it adds to the chaos/craziness of an Old God theme wise.

I really don’t care that months after the last raid has been cleared, a group of the best raiders in the game pull together a meme run of Heroic. It was fun to watch and it seems like they had a lot of fun.
(I am maybe a little jealous that might group is struggling much more on N’zoth, though!)_

Well, my friend and I never do mythic keys, we only do Heroic and Mythic when we can be bothered so neither of us really saw any reason for using corrupted gear. Both of us agreed it was just a hindrance more than anything. But it does make sense why people take them for Mythic+. I would still find it incredibly annoying but Mythic+ ain’t my gig so I never have to deal with it.
Corruptions like T-Dev can help DPS and tanks a lot, and there are some corruptions for vers, haste, etc. that can really help healers on fights.
It’s by no means necessary but it sure can make a Heroic clear easier, particularly when on prog

I don’t cleanse my stuff but I always run with corruption under my resistance level. Dealing with the debuffs is not something I care to do at all, regardless of the power gained. It’s not fun.
Yep. This isn’t about corruption, it’s about essences (which are also silly). This essence not having a cap of 2 or 3 is just a lazy oversight on Blizzard’s part.
But since they design the game around LFR, it never occured to them that it would be possible to have more than 2 tank-specced characters in the same group.
They’ve done this in past expansions all the time with different pieces. Did it in Legion with legiondaries. This isn’t new.
Has anyone checked to see if only casting frostbolt on mage is viable again with all these damaging procs?
Worst was a tank with 160 corruption. In lfr so they kept dying but led the raid in damage. Switched after 2 wipes.
On my arms I have a rank 8 cloak and could run with some good corrupted gear while keeping my corruption low but I find it far easier to just run without it altogether.
