So I just got my first bit or corrupted gear for this new char. Just got back in the game. ilvl 385 boots with echoing void +60 corruption. They would have replaced my 270 quest boots but the corruption is insane. I’m no where near the ilvl for n’zoth stuff. Can I remove it or is it basically useless to me? Don’t have the leg cloak.
What I don’t get is I’m technically not even up to this in the timeline of my character yet I got corrupted gear which would have been a great upgrade.
Is it going in the scrapper?
Depending on how far along you are on the cloak quest you can go to MOTHER in the Chamber of the Heart, and she can remove the corruption for you for a small cost of 5 momentos I think.
keep it, if its too troublesome now, save it for after getting the cloak upgraded a bit

I had this issue on my priest. I got a few world quest pieces with random corruption traits in them and they sat in my bag. Felt bad though because I was literally just trying to get enough gear to do the cloak quest efficiently
Hang on to it for now. Echoing Void is a great affix for tanks because it scales based on your health pool.
Based on your profile, it looks like you’re -almost- geared up enough to do the questline for the cloak, which will give you enough corruption resistance to use those boots with managable side-effects.
I recommend heading to Nazjatar, which will become available after completing the “foothold” quests in the war campaign. The intro quest will award you an iLvl 370 weapon for your spec, and give you access to Benthic gear, which is iLvl 385, and available for all slots except weapon, ring, and trinket. Those are bought with 5 manapearls each, which are pretty easy to farm for in the zone. Use it to replace your Aezerite gear first. The Benthic gear has 5 Aezerite traits compared to the 2/3 on your current gear, which is much more important than iLvl.
After that, a quest line will open up with Magni that will boost your heart of Azeroth to rank 30 (at least, that boost might have been buffed). Then head to the auction house and find cheap replacements for those trinkets. The AH might be a good place to find a new shield as well.
Also, as a warrior main myself, I find solo content a lot easier to do in Fury spec. The fights are shorter, and the self-heals make up for the lack of damage mitigation. Just personal opinion though, of course.

Confirmed buffed: my DH went from HoA 3 approximate to 50 instantly after activating chamber.

I think if we haven’t even got the cloak yet, or started the quests, we shouldn’t be getting corrupted gear at all. It’s annoying and a waste of a great upgrade for an alt.
60 corruption with no cloak is a death sentence. Keep it until you can purify it or simply wait until a WQ pops up with 415 boots.
