We should be getting malefic cores from every Horrific Vision we do 100% and not be time gated and have to wait 2months before a alt is relevant!!! FIX THIS BLIZZ WE HAVE A COMPLETE GARBAGE SYSTEM CURRENTLY!

Agreed, the current system is a nightmare for anyone wanting to start an alt or come back to the game.
The power disparity it provides in PvP is also awful. It’s already bad enough with the rotating vendor but then you take a newer character who is at 50-56 corruption resist versus the 86 and counting people who have been playing the same character every week have and you just simply can’t compete or switch characters.

Cloakedit: I realize that cloak account wide might not be the right step, Cores and Essences should be account wide.
Corruption vendor should have them all and not on rotation.
Echoes and mementos should drop double or triple the amount by now.
Why they refuse to make their own game fun is beyond me.

It has less to do with this and more to do with stubborn developers that still think they know better than the player base that’s been at this game for more than a decade.

Yes i’m sure their 5 alts at 420 ilvl is going to beat me. Got to make sure they put the same amount of time into each one as I do.

i am stuck trying to catch up, i mean i can only solo 2 zones at level 8 cloak still. there doesn’t seem to be any community running these so i am perpetually behind as it is. the whole system is just lame imo.

I promise you timegates are for the shareholders. Time played = looks good to investors.
Any other design choices serve the almighty time metric by proxy, because their goal is to get each player to play for x amount of time where x is the metric goal. it only makes sense to design with the goal of player retention in mind.
I’d say you’re right about the poor developers though. its pretty clear the devs at blizzard are extremely insulated and don’t take much time to study outside of work.

I disagree with making everything account wide, but as Blizzard seems to be acknowledging and will hopefully make better for the future if you do something before you won’t have the exact same path for it again on your other characters.
As far as cloak catchup goes there’s no reason for it to be gated. You can get like 4 maybe 5 vessels a week and that’s if you’re playing every day doing all the dailies and mini vision. That means that if you get your R15 cloak today you’d still need to go hardcore for the next 2 weeks or so to get fully caught up, and that’s assuming you are actually grinding out those 4-5 vessels each week. Something I doubt most people will actually be able to do.

This continues to be a stupid argument. I have 170k coalescing visions. If timegating didnt exist, I’d have a lot more time played because I’d be running visions nonstop instead of waiting to do one per week.

anyone who is scared or cares about alts catching up is irrelevant to this game and shows a lack of confidence in their skill. why would u even care, if someone can gear a alt? shows some major insecurity about your own ability

lol, you’re a joke. A fresh Alt today is 440 ilvl after you finish campaign and cloak chain with a round of WQ Emissaries.
I have 5 Alts sitting at 460-465 and the only thing holding them back from breaking 470 is the stupid cloak.
But I guess with that mentality you DO love this patch, where corruptions play for you and do damage for you and carry you through content.

Yeah that is my main problem and it stems from them being INCAPABLE of putting caps in systems… literally this team hates to see people finish anything.
Neck shouldv’e capped a long time ago and converted AP to gold gains.
Cloak should’ve capped maaaaybe 2 extra cores past 15. ESPECIALLY since that would mean people couldn’t put the amount of corruptions they can now, and make everything a meme in pvp.
You’re right, perhaps Cloak being account wide isn’t the right option, but Malefic Cores could’ve been for sure. That way you can keep playing your main and feed your alts little by little.
