Corruption may be objectively worse than TFing

When it comes down to it, there really isn’t a choice, there’s always going to be a meta. You’re either wearing the best you have for that fight, or not. If you don’t have the best corruption for that encounter, then you’re wearing the second best. Choice is an illusion, because you either have bis, or you dont

Queue the flex tape meme

I mean, it is objectively worse in terms of RNG. There are simply more roll variables than TF’s ilvls.

I get people want control on what they get and such BUT some of the ideas would FOR ME make this game ludicrously worse. I like getting drops. I don’t like the amount of RNG in this expansion, granted, BUT, being able to choose stats, effects, if it corrupts or not is absolutely a horribly bland way to play a game IMO.

May be?

It is.

It is even more RNG than TF and competitiveness depends on getting good RNG. TFing didn’t make or break your throughput in PVE like corruption does.

In a vacuum, maybe. But what I need to be doing during a given fight based on my guilds strategy will affect my choices.

For example, your complaint about an item with leech. The performance you see from leech on your meters is almost always (in pve) going to be meaningless meter padding that doesn’t help your group in any real way.

I shall. Thanks!

I hope you enjoy whatever is that you do in Goldshire Inn just as much!

Not so hot take: Both are awful.

Subjecting yourself to a system that punishes you for putting in the same effort as other players and having the chance to randomly get a significantly better reward or the “appropriate” reward (Hint: Actually a detriment unless you get the best) for zero reason at all is objectively terrible.

Anyone who argues otherwise has either a mental issue in how they approach the game, or they really enjoy getting free stuff they don’t deserve for content they don’t need it in.

Infinite Stars as a healer is very desirable on my disc priest. In fact, guides recommend it as one of the top corruption picks. I would go so far as to take it on any of my healing classes over most corruption options.

Infinite stars is good for healers, but its not worth to take if you drop like a butt ton of stam.

Leech is top corruption for disc only strikethrough competes. Not sure why you say its meaningless padding.

Thats funny, the devs have said for multiple xpacs that they want ilvl to = good when it comes to gear, and yet all the gear progression systems they give us fail to do that.

Maybe they should stop pretending ilvl matters since they are the only people playing this game who could possibly believe that.

Yes and no…

Overall its better in terms of risk and rewards but it feels worse when you don’t have a good corruption and it kneecaps you at higher levels of play.

I’d argue that it is. I use 420 bracers with infinite stars on them over my 460 bracers. As long as you don’t have survival issues, I’d go for more damage over more health. Especially as a healer as I have more control over my own health.

I mean… if you die… you cant dps

It really depends on the guide. Automatic Jak recommends strikethrough, siphoner, void ritual, and infinite stars as the best picks.

If that 10k unavoidable damage comes out and you die, you’ll wish you had more stam…

But I understand where you’re coming from. Its just how I feel (more as a tank main then a healer main). I would rather survive more unavoidable damage to do more damage, then have an item that may increase my dps to die to something that will one hit me without enough hp

But WoW is a very large and every situation is unique. So bring what you think that will benefit YOU the most. I’d rather as every role, have stam.

And if we wipe on the boss at sub 1% then I’ll wish I had the extra damage throughput. Our kill on Vexiona this week had myself and the tanks alive at the end. My damage helped make that a kill versus a wipe.

I completely understand what you’re saying though, one really has to weigh the options depending on your raid group and personal survivability. There is no one size fits all answer for everyone.

Yep, I have a 475 8% leech ring, 455 5% leech bracers, if I had better performing strikethrough or void ritual, I’d use those.

Corruption is far worse. You anti titanforging folks got your way and now look. Its all your fault!!!
