Corruption is a fun system

It really is. A lot better than titanforging. I get the decide how much corruption I can run and what pieces based on that content I’m doing. And really like how certain corruptions shuffle up my stat priority for a change.

I’m having fun in 8.3 good job blizzard.

If essences were account wide this would be one of the best patches. There is so much content.

Oh, you got more than one corrupted piece then, I’ve been playing two weeks and only got one with the crappiest tier. If you like loot casino then go and play diablo and let wow become pure again.

You get guaranteed corrupted piece from weekly chest. Everyone should have minimum of 4 corrupted pieces by now

Yeah I got the same bracers 2 times. Blizz loves to hand out bracers.

Take mine. I’ve got like 5 pieces from WQs and don’t want any of them, given that I haven’t even touched 8.3 yet, so I’m stuck with all of this useless corrupted junk.

Not a fan of rng acquisition, obscene power swings, little to no correlation with item level, or random procs doing large amounts of my damage for me.

How?

There are no corruptions that would change your stat priority any more than just getting new gear with different stats on it would normally.

Not that I can think of.

That aside, yeah, the system is fun. Or at least the core idea.

But literally everything about the implementation ruins that fun, for me and many others.

Eh, it’s okay. I’d rather have a better talent tree.

Most of the damage ones are hasted ppm and can crit, but don’t scale with primary stat or class masteries. This skews you pretty heavily towards haste crit and a little versa.

There’s also % from sources, which skews you towards that stat.

I’ve gotten a couple of trinkets that don’t corrrupt and tokens to upgrade ilvl, and one corrupted item.

Ah fair enough. My main already wants 40% of my stats to be crit and 40% to be haste, so it doesn’t really affect me I guess.

Does it, though? I know generally when you get more of a stat, it becomes less desired and other stats become a little more desired until eventually the “best” stat stops being the best stat. Does the bonus from those effects provide enough to override that tendency in cases where you’ve tipped over that edge?

As a shadow priest, very much yes, like you said I’m already skewing heavily towards haste and crit but when you get a few severe corruptions things get absolutely absurd.

Yet here I sit. No corrupted pieces, no cloak. I am, however, not doing the 8.3 “content”.

The amount of people just straight up ignoring 8.3 while still playing is honestly astounding to me.

I guess. I guess its better than some of the things they come up with. Still, really hate it when I proc an eyeball only to proc one again right afterward. (I’ve stopped moving out of them. Addon can holler at me all it wants, i ain’t moving!)

Ah yeah, I love having corruptions account for 12-15% of my damage. /s

Damage isn’t that bad from the eyes so you can kinda just sit there at least in group content. I try to only move out of them when I have an instant cast and there isn’t something worse that I would be walking into.

Solo it can be a bit more difficult to deal with as you can’t quite ignore it (like during big pulls in visions)

Of course it’s fun for you.

Hell, if I had rank 3 infinite starts with a rank 1 twilight devastation as well as you, I too would think it’s fun!

They’re doing things they find fun, and 8.3 content might not be fun to them. Not really all that surprising.
