Corruption gear should work at least half way through Shadowlands leveling

Why disable them in the Prepatch? Weve spent months farming them, at least let us use them for a portion of the leveling experience!

Why not? Thats what they did with Legion Legendaries. They worked up until level 116.

The sooner they get rid of corruption the better. Worst system ever designed.

I dont think so. GETTING the right corruptions sucked, but i really did like the Risk/Reward of the system.

corruption gear should be dumped in a flaming titanic dumpster at prepatch

Not only does it go against the lore, but the mechanics of the corruption system are FUBAR. And with that said, it would limit how you choose your covenants, and learn those abilities with your rotation…

Why is that? Because the quest line is linear, and leveling from 50-60 will introduce you to all of the covenants, and their abilities when you progress the quest line. This way, you get a test drive of those abilities before committing yourself.

Corruption is broken. Always has been, and always will be. Scrapping the system and starting anew is a smarter idea than trying to incorporate failed mechanics, that Blizz themselves have admitted broke the game, and let folks organically level with their new borrowed powers.

The two systems running side by side would involve its own level of patching to ensure “balance” through leveling, all while taking away from covenant tuning at its core.

The death of corruption cannot come soon enough.
Besides… you’ll forget about using it when you see the pre-patch leading up to SL, and by the time you get ready to rock and roll at 50, you’ll not miss it much.

It’s pretty fun. So many builds to mess around with!

No thanks, just turn it off please.

It would be fun if the grind to the currency was not the only thing left to do in the game, and if the vendor was not a rotation. However, at this point, getting an upgraded ilvl item is pointless if it takes a month to grind the currency and wait for the vendor to have the item you are replacing.

Woot! 470 item to replace my 460! But now I gotta go grind the 15k echoes to replace the corruption on that item, and put off the corruption I was trying to go for instead. And I’m doing this 3 months before pre-patch.

Broken system.

If I wanted to gamble, I’d go to a casino, not play WoW. I’m all for the removal of corruptions, never was a fan of my DPS outcome being influenced heavily by RNG.

7 months…

7 months it took for my tank to get TD rank 3. Did all the content, consistently. Got my clears in and ran my weekly chest to get TD rank 3 for that additional boost in damage to help push keys. Finally was able to get it AFTER the vendor was put in and after grinding the 15k Echoes.

Another person in the guild, got it in the first couple weeks of 8.3, and was not even a tank.

That kind of RNG is crazy. Makes Titanforging look promising all over again.

When is the prepatch supposed to be anyway? Ballpark

Corruption gear should be removed from the game as soon as possible and permanently scoured from memory.

Corruption was fine; implementation was poor

Two years from now, going to be having the same discussion about some 9.3 borrowed power system.

I can’t agree with you here OP. Sorry I think it’s time for corruptions to go it’s had it’s time. Been fun and frustrating and I think most of the player base is ready to see our own abilities count for something.

Not just massive gushing wound damage or tentacles or any other of these wild rng procs that do more than you could ever think of by just using your classes abilities.

then youll be stuck in a situation (again) where you find something higher ilvl but its not yet quite an upgrade and you feel bad equipping it.

idk. its complicated.

I’d rather not. I’m rather eager to be rid of corruptions and have classes just be stronger baseline without the corruptions. Neat system, cool visuals on some of them, bad execution overall though…

You’re not going to be sad to lose those 6 haste % corruptions? I know I will be.
