Currently, getting a corruption piece of gear is more anxiety inducing than rewarding. The unsettling feeling of not knowing if something will corrupt, then to have it corrupt and be useless is very frustrating. Couple that with the super low drop rate in most content with corruption, and you have a very underwhelming, frustrating, and overall unsatisfying system that needs to change, and at minimum be adjusted. The general consensus among multiple types of players is that Corruption gear isn’t fun, and most of the time, feels bad.
Systems shouldn’t feel bad most of the time. Your attempt to improve on titanforging (also a bad system) has failed. I understand that this is it for BFA but you do have the ability to tune it to hopefully decrease the overall dissatisfaction with corruption gear.
I feel like the drop rate for corruption gear should either increase SIGNIFICANTLY or should just become 100% on anything above some form of ilvl. Since most pieces now scale with ilvl, it prevents most gear from becoming over powered at lower ilvl. The current drop rate is very low, and coupled that with the irresponsible amount of RNG on the corruption pieces is completely unacceptable.
So please, i’m begging, please make the drop rate much much higher, or 100% on higher ilvl gear.

- Is it Infinite Stars Rank 2 or 3?
- How much corruption do you have?
- Is it an ilvl upgrade?
If your corruption is above 45-50, check the ability if its good. If not cleanse.
If the ability is not good but an upgrade, cleanse

The corruption system is so unbalanced, I have to seriously wonder if they even bothered to test it out. It really needs to have an honest review and balance done to it. I don’t mind the concept of the system but some effects are too powerful and others are nearly worthless.

Yeah but if you’re experiencing it over loot in a video game, that’s got nothing to do with mental health. That’s just ridiculous by definition.

Not true, even in the slightest.
We’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one then. I have an anxiety disorder, a real one. I still think it is ridiculous.
edit: Like it’s much more harmful to society’s perception of mental health to treat stuff like this as a mental health issue. That’s how you confuse the public, by treating stuff that isn’t mental illness as if it has anything to do with actual mental illness. If this guy is experiencing anxiety over loot in a video game, yeah, I really do question how he manages to get through life. Probably with a lot of BS, like this thread to begin with, and his experience of anxiety over loot.

Well, I would hope that you understand that anxiety doesn’t magically turn off while you playing video games, or that different people experience anxiety differently.
I would also hope that you understand how damaging it is, for another to down play your feelings.
I agree, but if someone has an actual anxiety disorder, they have to have different values. There is a difference between the emotion of anxiety and an actual anxiety disorder too. If someone is feeling anxiety over loot in a video game, they ought to be ridiculed for it. That’s the whole point of ridiculing anyway, to let people know that their emotions are inappropriate in response to the situation they are reacting to.

Just for your knowledge, Anxiety - It’s a feeling of fear or apprehension about what’s to come.
Since Gear drops are pretty unknown on whether or not you will or will not get corruption, its upsetting to not get a piece. I think this falls in line with Anxiety.
Anxiety is experienced differently by a lot of people, some people have really bad anxiety where they can barely function, whereas some people just have an elevated heart rate about the unknown.
I would hope you would educate yourself more on the topic.

I don’t agree. Yes, their may be outside factors that are enabling their anxiety. That’s probably the most accurate conclusion to make, but we shouldn’t judge.
Having said that, the system is terrible, and I can relate to weekly rewards feeling worse than having them at all.
Edit: White knight, real mature. I emphasise with your disorder, but I don’t think that gives you the right to ridicule others pain just because you feel that is beneath your own.
The system may or may not be terrible, I happen to like it.
I don’t appreciate anxiety being brought into this(it was fine until Bozho white knighted and treated it like a mental health thing though. Anxiety itself isn’t related to mental health, it’s just an emotion. I wanted to ridicule you for it too but someone already did immediately as you posted). Bring a valid complaint, don’t use mental illness as a way to manipulate blizzard into thinking the issue is more severe than it is.
