i go to fight any mob, and they go off. specificly eye of corruption. that dang thing never, frikkin stops. worst part, my corruption is at 63, so getting out of the death-ring is VERY difficult since it’s bigger the arathi-basin blacksmith-hut (i know, weird thing to reference, but i needed a size comparison) and sometimes i get hit with grasping tendrils, and i have no chance of escaping my death. plus, i have a corruption effect that summons a ‘thing from beyond’ that if it catches me, hits me with grasping tendrils AND eye of corruption.
…anyway, what corruption effects bother you guys the most?
i thought the downside would go off every once in a while, not every single fight. instead anytime i’m fight anything i’m gettin murderized by my own gear more than the enemy!
But even then, why would you ever get that high? 39 is basically the cap unless you’re okay with occasionally randomly getting 3x Things from Beyond spawning at once, and even if you’re okay with that, 59 is genuinely considered the absolute cap because holy crap the 60 effect is awful.
Go do your cloak quest and upgrade it.
Use the Breath of the Dying, even if it’s just Rank 1, as an essence.
You should be sitting at like 10 Corruption with the ones you currently have, not 60+
not yet. i’m on my way to get it but theres SO many quests… meanwhile, eye of corruption, eye of corruption, eye of corruption… blizz really shoulda made corrupt gear unable to be gained till we get our cloaks.
…none, I cleanse every corrupted item I get if I have any intention of equipping it. I have no plans to level the cloak so it’s just not worth it to me as a solo player.
I wiped off a rank 2 Twilight Devastation just yesterday.
This, yes. If you run higher than 39, you have to accept that you will on occasion be blasted with Things From Beyond until you die. That chance will always exist once you hit 40, and the higher you go, the worse your chances of living through it, because the Things are faster and reduce the time between damage spikes.
I accidentally eqipped my guild cloak for a pull the other day removing my corruption resistance. I wondered why I suddenly had a half a km eye radius and crippling 90%+ slow on tentacle.
The acquisition of corrupted gear is my biggest problem with the system. But the high-risk high-reward aspect of it is a really cool idea. If I want to stack a bunch of twilight devastation for keys, I can and it will do a disgusting amount of damage. But in return I have a lot more negative corrupted effects going off. The system also gives every player the ability to choose what level of corruption they play with or just cleanse everything and not have to worry about corruption at all. I have a raid corrupted gear set, a dungeon corrupted gear set and a vision corrupted gear set. I can’t even remember the last time I had so many sets gear for so many different play styles.
When I was trying to get my vision 5 mask clears I realize that most of the time I was getting killed by corruption effects and mechanics from the dungeon. So much movement restricting mechanics in the vision we’re getting me killed with a corrupted effects going off. I lost my first five mask clear because of a thing from beyond spawned at the worst possible time. So when i only equipped one rank 3 twilight devastation. With that I only have tendrils slowing me down by a very small amount so I can deal with the mechanics of the vision.
One of the advantages of the system is you get to choose what level of crush you play with. I don’t know too much about warlocks but I don’t think you’re very mobile. If that’s the case and maybe a lower corruption level is best for you
Only other time corruption annoys me is if I derp and don’t face the enemy correctly or close enough so my twilight devastation beam misses. But that’s on me.
