With the Time Rifts and Dawn of the Infinite granting us items that allow for a weapon of the past… Including unobtainable weapons.
What are the odds it will give a 2H greatsword the Corrupted Ashbringer.
Espically now that the Scarlet Key lets you go back to SM Cathedral of old. Coincidence… I think not.
What are your thoughts on this theory?
I’d say a snowball’s chance in the Firelands.
They’ve stated a lot of crap and then changed their mind. I wouldn’t be too surprised if they brought it back. Ion hazzikostas in particular is a very unreliable source (and an unreliable game developer too in my opinion, but that’s a different subject.)
You say that, but the game currently can grant you unobtainable mounts that you can’t get from the tcg because the cards with codes don’t exist anymore or blizzcon items from previous cons.
So as long as the items ID and soundpack files and the coding script for the instance still exists in the code then there is a .000001% chance that you can receive the xmog for it.
They’re going to keep backtracking man.
Don’t be surprised if you start seeing some of these unobtainable classic items appearing on the traders market in the next year or so

I’ve never really thought that FOMO items were that great, and recently I’ve not even cared at all if people get the “rare” stuff that I have. I don’t get it to impress others. I get stuff because it’s cool to me.
A reason I have so many tenders. Could you imagine the OG Corrupted Ashbringer? With access to old SM and the RP event that goes with it.
They missed a truly fantastic opportunity when they did up the Freehold area in BFA… Imagine if the Pirates went Neutral if you had the Bloodsail Admiral outfit on + Title?
I hope it becomes obtainable, but I doubt blizzard would allow that or make their minions more upset.
