I used to say this and i have no idea why. I had never even heard anyone say it’s name out loud until relatively recently. I only found out how it’s pronounced from Hearthstone earlier this year. Yh-charge.
I do wonder why so many people pronouce it Yah-Sha-Raj though. It cannot just be a coincidence.

I would literally die before I say it that way.
But I’m also a stubborn pokemon fan that will say pokemon names the way I interpret them even if they’re horribly horribly wrong. 
Sh is pronounced sh, not ch. And the correct pronunciation of tomato is actually tomato and not tomato. You’re welcome.

Is it? But in Hearthstone Y’Shaarj pronounces it’s own name as Yh-charge. Like the warrior ability.
It’s pretty laughable that anyone would say “b-b-b-but this is the canon way to say it”, considering who is responsible for what is canon in this game, and their sorry output the last few expansions.

In fact quite a few harder to say names can be picked up if you pay close attention to dialogue, like Velen’s pronouncement of Drey-ni.

I can believe that. Especially since it would corroborate the rumors that Blizzard has basically no communications between departments.
But that’s not the point. I used to say Yah-Sha-Raj (still do because Y-charge sound dumb) depsite not having seen the official pronunciation. And everyone i’ve talked to pronouce it the former way as well.
Which doesn’t make sense because there really is no way to read Y’Shaarj as anything but Y-shaar-ch. Yet my brain (and many others) landed on Yah-Sha-Raj. It almost feels like the mandela effect but clearly isn’t.
Until I heard Ion pronounce it in an interview once I always pronounced it with a silent ‘j’, either as ‘Eee-shaar’ or ‘Yuh-Shaar’ (went back and forth on it).
It’s a being inspired by Lovecraft’s Cthulhu and other outer-dwelling fiends. How its name is truly pronounced is anyone’s guess, as it’s likely beyond our vocal and percussive ranges to physically reproduce.
In English it might sound something like Yuh/Yih/Yee/Eee - Sharj, the dash denoting a possible glottal stop as one might find in the oft meme’d colloquial British pronunciations of such phrases as “water bottle”.
