I’m sure that largely the system works off an algorithm that regulates the system within certain perameters, as you said.
However… I also think that Blizz has a higher vantage point from which to strategize usage of systems that directly impact number of active users, as well as direct profits from purchasing gold, and assuming that they will not use that for their maximum benefit through manipulation would be exactly what you said:

Well, George isn’t a blizzard employee, and he did nothing even borderline illegal there.
Don’t get me wrong, his NPC should be removed, along with every other npc/reference to real world people.

The concert was the reason people got riled up and verbally attacked players of the other faction on stage. In the more harmless situations they just spit on Alliance cosplayers.

That was on blizzard for playing the clip honestly, and they knew what type of music the band played, so it was also on them for anything that happened at their event.
It was also on the PEOPLE at the event, just because something gets you “riled up” doesn’t give you the go ahead to act like a fool.
