Copying RP profiles across characters! (XRP specifically)

A bit of a niche question here, as I use XRP, and TRP is by far a more popular addon! But I’ve made this character to serve as an occasional Alliance-side-manifestation of my Horde main - Sarestha the Undead Human Death Knight. Does anyone know if it’s possible to use the same RP profile on two different characters, even through a character copying system? And if so, how does one do it?

Well, TRP at least allows you to make child profiles, and you can assign any profile you have saved to any character you like. So in theory, you could make a profile that’s a child of your main’s profile, and assign it as the default for your alt.

I have no idea if that would work in practice, though. Try it and see if I’m misremembering?

I probably should try to get used to TRP to be honest - I’ve tried it on two occasions and simply found the interface a little bit too busy for my tastes. But it’s overwhelmingly the most used addon now, so I’ve considered just sucking it up and using it. XD Features like that could be useful - I don’t think XRP supports child profiles or anything.

I’ve been waffling on making the switch myself. As far as I know, XRP is abandoned at this point, which is a shame.

It still technically works, though, and the only thing really stopping me is my own laziness.

If you plan to literally (word-for-word) use Sares’ profile of this alt, TRP allows you attach the same profile to as many characters as you like without duplicating or copying the text.

It’s basically a big ol’ dropdown list of your characters and their profiles, that you can rapidly swap between and edit on anybody pretty cleanly, and comes with XRP>TRP transfer if both addons are active at the same time.

Honestly, after swapping over I don’t really wanna go back. While TRP’s search function doesn’t have filters (it’s by-name rather than by-race/class), I found it retains information a little better than XRP’s? But that might’ve just been a “me” problem.
