Is there any way for me to copy all addon settings from one toon to a new one? I make a lot of alts, and I’m really tired of the 15 minutes of setup required to get all my addons set up. I have to disable elvui modules, copy profiles from 6 or 7 addons, etc etc.
I’ve tried copying my account files from the WTF folder for my source character to my new character’s folder, but that doesn’t seem to work (the addons still aren’t configured when I log into the new toon).
Is there a quick and easy way to mass copy all addon and UI settings from one character to another?
Some (many) addons use Profiles for storing character settings (all character settings are saved into a single file rather than to each individual characters \SavedVariables folder).
For these addons it’s usually pretty easy to open their options interface, find where they have the settings for creating/setting/deleting profiles and change the profile you character is currently using to one that you have already configured (there is usually a list of available profiles to pick from).
Won’t work for all addons.
Addons using this approach will store (usually) charcter name/realm to associated profile information in their “global” saved variables file (addon name.lua stored in the SavedVariables folder under WTF\Account[your account]). After making a bakcup copy and while out of the game you can change the profile name for your character(s) here (after making a backup copy… or two or…).
