I’m a fan of the new cooldown manager. I’m planning to replace weakauras with this feature asap because of computer performance. One big problem that’s already clear is that we can reposition the cooldown manager but not change the order of abilities to be tracked or what ability is tracked. For the Essential cooldowns I agree with the choices but I don’t need to see 19 utility abilities, I only really want to track a few defensives and counter shot.
What do you guys think about this new feature?
It’s my opinion that without the ability to pick & choose exactly which abilities/buffs/cds I want to specifically track, it’s not something I’ll ever use. So until they upgrade their little ‘cooldown manager’, I’ll manage just fine without it.
For new players, using this in-built cd manager may work fine for introducing someone unfamiliar with the concept of tracking cooldowns & how that intermingles with learning how to play your class better, but it is sorely lacking when we’re talking about players who just may have been playing for the entire 21 years of this game.
To me, it’s insulting that this is what they’ve decided to give players AND with no customizability at all. I’d rather that they hadn’t even bothered, since we have far, FAR superior addons with enormous customizability already out there.

I think its great and its a huge improvement for me except that the action bars now seem behind in supporting it as I cannot hide the action bar 1. so now i just have a useless action bar on my screen that i want to hide but cant
cooldown manager is more than i was hoping for tho, i hope they keep moving in this direction and iterate on the UI more
Can you just make the squares invisible and not place and icons on it, then jam it somewhere to the side?
It’s worse than WA in every single way imaginable AND they gutted the personal resource display (for no reason) in return. Just failure all around.

Thing is tho, i’d like to keep my keybinds, especially i’d like to keep them so if i’m in a vehicle or w/e they stay as they are. i dont want to change my keybinds or come up with some janky solution that changes gameplay, i just want to hide the action bars (while still utilizing them for keybinds etc) and let the cooldown manager provide the visual information

Haven’t seen it. Where do you get it? Of course the obvious question, why do we need it? There is a cool down timer on every button that has a cool down.
I personally play with weakauras that track my most important ability cooldowns with a little row for important buffs and procs above it. I don’t even have visible action bars. Just 2-3 rows of 6-7 cooldown trackers, depending on the spec.
I find it much better to play that way for my own tastes, so if the new feature could replace that I’d consider using it, but it sounds like it can’t.
