I’m really digging the new content. This is definitely a MUSIC-ON expansion. But as a roleplayer, I’ve got an eye out for a few things. ONE is, spaces for RP.
Unfortunately, while many places are just so dang COZY and look so amazing and lived in, especially the main city in the Isle of Dorn and towns in Hallowfall, almost everywhere is full of NPCs. NPCs in every chair, milling around in every building. There’s a big cathedral and an airship academy with a downstairs lounge in Hallowfall that are just chef’s kiss.
If only all these dudes would get out of the chairs.
The other thing I’m looking for as a roleplayer are NEW TOYS AND ITEMS that can be used for RP! And there are some really neat ones.
Probably the big showstopper that I’ve encountered so far is the Arathi Book Collection toy a desk that you can deploy to have your character sit at and read…indefinitely. Until you move, or presumably get attacked/interrupted:
It also only has a 30 second cooldown!
Another good indefinite (until you go into combat/use another item/do something else but this one you can move with) toy with just a FIVE second cooldown is the Cave Spelunker’s Torch. Similar to the Torch of Pyrreth from the Secrets stuff late in Dragonflight, you carry a torch, but this one has more of a rustic cave adventurer aesthetic. And yes, those are dynamic lighting effects on it.
And then, see that little candle jobber there on the ground? That’s a consumable item Holy Candle that you can buy, a candle that you can set up on many surfaces - tables, the floor, etc. That one does have a five minute cooldown and it isn’t a toy, so if you want to use them you’ll need to carry them around.
Those are all FAIRLY simple to get (the desk is a little more involved) but on the higher effort end, for those that like transformation toys there’s the Illusive Kobyss Lure toy, that turns you into one of the new Anglerfish-like mobs from Hallowfall with one of a few random appearances. That one lasts for a good 30 minutes which is impressive for a transformation toy, but does have an hour-long cooldown.
Those are the ones that stood out for me so far, but I’m sure there’s more!
