I’m looking to use cooking while leveling a brand new toon (only level 8). The trainers i found can only train for Cataclysm cooking, so I can’t learn receipes while leveling. Any ideas

BC cooking trainer is in Shatratth, Northend cooking trainer is in crystalsong forest Dalaran. Catching on?

I know where the trainers are. I’m looking for training and recipes for starting zones. The trainer in Goldshire and Stormwind offer recipes but I can’t use without training and they don’t offer it.

Classic Cooking is offered by the cooking trainers of the low-level zones.

One complication is that the Classic level of training is pre-selected so it’s at the top of the training UI, not in the list of available things to be trained. You can’t select it to train it. (Because it’s already selected). You just hit the “Train” button and you learn the Classic tier of cooking (and have your wealth decremented by 10 copper).

After that, you can train the Classic recipes according to your skill.

where is the (classic) cooking trainer i went back to a low level area the barrens im here bec it is low level and dont remember if i started here im in the barrens

If you’re in the Northern Barrens (in the vicinity of Crossroads), it’ll be this guy.

To see the vanilla recipes;

  1. Click on cooking icon
  2. At the bottom of the window that opens, click on the “Classic” recipes radio button.

The cooking trainer in the Inn in old town can get you started. You’ll need to get to cooking level 50 to have him train you further. A ton of flour and spices + cooking some brilliant smallfish will get you there. Then you’ll need mudfish and catfish to get to and over 100. Recipes are upstairs at that inn as well as the fishing supplies vendor in Stormwind, Ironforge, Dun Morough(sp?), etc.

Old Town? In Stormwind?

That would be… exciting… for a Forsaken character. But there are equivalents in Orgrimmar, where they would receive a more hospitable welcome.

Good catch. :joy: :joy: :joy: I guess I really should be awake when responding to posts, right?

In Orgrimmar, up the stairs across from the Transmogifer, in the first door, on the left-hand side. Recipes at the NPC on the dock in Valley of Strength and will have to travel to Crossroads (butcher on left when entering, vendor on south side of inn), Thunder Bluff, and (as you progress beyond 175) Booty Bay.
