What do you do vs this? I interrupted it as soon as it started channeling and I still took 25k damage in 1.5 seconds.

Then you didn’t interrupt it immediately.

It can do 25k or 1k. Just because you got unlucky once doesn’t mean its broken.

Point is, interrupt faster. Literally any interrupt or CC cancels it.

But I’ll get flak for saying that. So I’ll give you the real answer. When rng is heavily not in your favor coupled with less than ideal reaction times, you’ll likely die. Good news is this isn’t the standard and interrupting it as soon as you see it will be fine 95% of the time. I just queued for hours tonight and saw tons of boomys. Never died to convoke. My pally did because he misplayed super hard and we had a good laugh. But that’s it.

I will concede that it takes fast reaction and generally you want proactive good positioning as well. There’s counterplay for sure, but it’s not generous to the lower brackets.

Alternatively you can also just line it. That or interrupt it in any way are the only two options. Besides immunities.

travel time is why this is very wrong, btw
i spam @arenaboomkin storm bolt and die behind the pillar i leaped to after it already stunned him because starsurge has travel time
using an instant kick isn’t a complete salve, cuz surge still has it even without crutching on storm bolt

this was kicked instantly and i got rng’d. it has counter play until it doesnt thats the problem

You know convoke is coming so be quick to react. Use target player macros so you can actually instantly interrupt it not 1.5 seconds later. Trade your major defensives for convoke. It’s a fair trade that is actually in your favor. Basically use your abilities and be ready to use them the moment he pops out. People usually die to convoke one shot openers because they didn’t push buttons.

Save cap totem for it and drop it on them. Line of sight it. Kick it. Always be ready for convoke.

Convoke is a cancerous ability that isn’t good for the health of the game, it needs to be reworked.

Yes because every melee class has an ability that can interupt 30yds away

Convoke needs a rework, every druid and druid friend will argue that it is fine and just git gud, but it needs a rework.

Dont get me wrong, I AM FINE with convoke doing a metric buttload of damage if it is setup properly with cross CC, etc.

What I am not fine with, is kicking it within 0.5-0.75 seconds after it being cast, which is pretty quick, only to get RNG’d by a FM and 2 starsurges.

People shouldnt have to use kickbots to not get RNG’d by convoke

Proposed Rework .
Convoke cannot cast full moon or starsurge for the first second it is channeled, then you get a guaranteed FM or starsurge with an increasing chance at starsurge or FM the longer it is channeled. If you channel it the full duration, the last 3 spells are guaranteed to be FM’s or starsurges.

RNG removed from the beginning of the spell, you are rewarded for good cross CC and setup.

I dont want it completely gutted like most seem to, I actually thinks its a very neat and unique skill. Just dont RNG me bro.

Exactly. Paladins can only kick within short range, or have a 10 yd stun if talented. When I face druids I have to pillar hump and try to get a line. Otherwise its a forced bubble on start of match.

Nice try Sparky but we all know it needs to be nerfed. Hard. Like 75%.

No it doesnt, it just needs a slight rework so its not so RNG heavy to where if you dont kick it in the first 0.25 seconds you risk evaporating.

Stop trying to get interesting abilities gutted.

You cant kick it within the first 0.25 seconds due to the servers. I mean I know you are exaggerating but still. You are better off lining it. And only if the server registers your line appropriately. I went against a 3 druid team last night. We knew it was a loss from the beginning. Also 2 of the 3 druids were a multiboxer clearly using a program to input inputs to the other client.

You can’t even get 1 sec of convoke off even in 1400 rank arena.

There is nothing “interesting” about a druid popping convoke from stealth and killing someone in .5 seconds. Especially in a game where most classes have a 1.5 second global.

Cross CC, positioning etc.

That is the other problem with convoke. It is legit such an insanely powerful ability it holds the other team hostage until they see it go off. You HAVE to hold a kick/stun/anything to stop it. Also it cant just be one person holding it, it has to be the whole team for when the cross CC happens. That way SOMEONE is able to stop it. It gives everyone else on your team free reign to do whatever they want.

Mages get off full Gpyro’s (4.5 second cast btw) with good cross CC, you can get off a convoke with good cross CC.
