Convince me to play!

I’ve been away (a few months, not that long in the grand scheme of things, but I seem to have misplaced my Lounge key). This evening, for the first time since I last shut down battle.net, I find myself eyeing the icon on my desktop. I’m sitting on fence, looking in. I just need a nudge from this kind community.

Tell me what brought you joy recently? Tell me what journey you are on? Tell me a fish tale to fire my imagination? Let me live vicariously through your enthusiasm for a moment? Or just say hi?

(please don’t tell me not to play, I’m still a little skittish and might run away)

I honestly can’t think of a reason for anyone to play this. It’s literally the same stuff from Dragonflight with a different skin on it.

I guess play it to check out Undermine raid, that’s honestly the only cool thing. The zone is honestly a congested, claustrophobic cluster with thousands of random mobs wandering around, it makes the Port of Boralus look empty.

The outdoor zones are Zaralek caverns Expanded. The world quests are more fly thru rings, go rock climbing, same exact stuff from DF.

I’m not even being cynical. If there was something new new to try, I would recommend it. The DRIVE feature isn’t enough to bring someone back, not with it being relegated to the zone.

If you need/want to farm old content, I say go for it! If you want to play the new expansion…

Uuuhhh…welll…I shall leave that up to you.

Yeah I agree with person above me. It’s basically just better for the older content. The current stuff is reskinned from DF, aside from the Undermine raid. The other raid this xpac is just meh, I wouldn’t even bother. Annoying bosses with, guess what, an old theme we’ve already visited before, Nerub. Unless you really love the Nerub stuff…

I’m just a data nerd, that enjoys watching progress bars fill up and collecting things.

The gameplay is still engaging, many classes are fun to play.

Honestly, only you can give yourself that nudge.

This was the only other thing I could really think of. If you really wanna try out the class fantasies, that’s probably the main draw of this expansion, hero talents.

Don’t. It’s a black hole run by developers who objectively don’t understand their community but pretend like they know more than us.

12k posts and 36k achievement points, I think you probably like WoW. Why not login and do some of the things you’ve enjoyed for years?

Come on in, the water is warm.

a bunch of people who willingly pay a subscription fee for a game that they claim is horrible, terrible, awful, and that they hate, so that they can come to these forums and lie about unsubscribing are going to spend this entire thread telling you not to play :dracthyr_hehe_animated: :dracthyr_hehe_animated: :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

I have greatly enjoyed WoW in the past.
I expect I will still like it if I log in again.

But the future is not always a continuation of the past.
I need something I didn’t need a few months ago.

I need to see joy. Or kindness. Or welcome. Not necessarily towards me personally, but just something to give me hope in this community.

If you like class fantasy for (i’d argue most) classes, the hero talents are VERY good at it. I regularly alt about half the specs/classes and am very happy with the vast majority.

Well darn… Ummmm I guess you can level real easy right now if you aren’t max. Its been really fun with all my gaggle of lil alts. You can still enjoy Undermine-- which is fun but starting to get a little stale. The Nightfall scenario is no longer as bugged so you can also go do that…

There is no game like WoW.

It has a Massive World to explore. The new expansion, The World Within has massive content to explore.

There are dungeons, Delves and Raid. There are quests and story quests littered all over the place. There are goals and objectives that needs to be completed, content to unlock, tons of items to collect. It’s up to you to which direction you go. There’s non-stop of things to do.

You would be overwhelmed; and that’s normal. You have days, weeks, months to accomplish these… in your available time.

Beware. This game is so addicting. Make sure that you are in control.

Have Fun!!! GG.

Which direction have you been going lately?

I was in the same boat. Went on a hiatus from Oct - March of this year. What brought me back was that I just missed it. I was away long enough for my love for the game to be a little bit rekindled. Then I started lurking here and reading discussion. Although it is rather negative here, being a part of the community (even if just reading from my unsubbed account) eventually made me want to resub and give it a shot.

As for the content that brought me back? Nothing special. The same stuff I always did - M+ and mog farming. I just missed it, is all. There’s no game quite like WoW.

The mere fact that you can post here means you’ve already paid a subscription.

May as well actually use it.
