I’ve enjoyed it back during 8.3, all but the weekly Vessel
I enjoy it even more today, with more masks, difficulties and spammable system, together with quite great gear for someone not doing M+10s.
I think it’s fun in the way you need to strategize stuff, you see the learning curve every run and you get to add more and more stuff to do each run to make it harder depending on whether or not the last one or the level you’re at was difficult or close.
I Just find it entertaining, I’ve done a 6 Masks solo full clear of Orgrimmar with a 648 Monk today and for the ilvl I’m quite happy about it

It’s a very fun mode.
The hardest setting on the content is very hard, that’s normal.
My only complaint is the Maghar Orc area from Org Visions.
- The Hulk elite needs a rework.
The current meta being: “If you don’t have enough burst to kill him before he literally throws away your insanity, you’re just dead” is not good design.
- The visual clarity on Lobster Man.
Don’t remember his name, the final boss of the area. No warning or edges on his instant kill laser. Cast finished and you die or you don’t.
Only other complaints are the bugs and their poison, any pack you pull just instantly stuns you and you die.
If you don’t have any kite or burst+stun combos, you’re just done.
lmao.

It isn’t a controversial take at all.
Horrific Visions were at the time some of the most fun content that people had ever done. The people who complain about it and say it was horrific are a miniscule minority of people. They are extremely loud, the folks who say they didn’t like it, but they are a miniscule minority of players.
All of this just means it ain’t a controversial take at all.

Never had an issue with the minor sanity loss from the hulk, him & Gamon both seem to waste the cd on their throw/stun if you’re out of melee range at the right moment. Figuring out when that is and when you can safely melee is gonna be elaborate weakaura time because there’s no direct indicator.
The bug poison though, ugh. I cannot get through that with Multitudes, think my ultimate strategy is gonna be using Bladestorm, and then go afk in the previous zone until that cd is back up.
The sanity loss becomes massive during 8 mask runs.
You lose -150 (Daredevil mask) a throw, out of ~575 (Long Night + Upgrades) Sanity. I believe long night cuts the 150 you get to 75, I don’t remember specifics but losing nearly a third of your bar without counterplay is insane.
If you don’t kill him in under 1 throw you go negative in sanity management.
Bad design to rely on Weakauras to out range the throw.
lmao.
There is counterplay, it’s just tricky. I always have a Nemesis pop right there, I haven’t needed to but could delay killing Gamon until there’s sanity loss to recover. Or even pop an orb during the fight since there’s barely any other place to use them. Once we have Gift of the Titans, having a proc ready and pulling him with his big trash pack to get immunity will also work.
Having fun too.
The nicest thing about visions is that they equally doable solo or with a friend. Even more so than delves, multiplayer delves feel like a slog but mutiplayer visions don’t.
I think they hit the solo/multiplayer balance right on, with visions.

I really wished I remember how I handled the throw from the Hulk on my Rogue back in BFA. Evasion? Cloak? I don’t thinkI just up and killed him.
I got lucky and remembered Bug Man had a frontal. Had to actually dodge the orbs this time though. It’s just as subtle with Thrall though so that was a bit of a problem!
Really the biggest problem was Rexxar! He kept murdering my pet and the cramped arena was a problem. 8 masking him will be scary.
Anyway, yeah! I said it before but Visions are a lot of fun once they get going. You get your own routes and strats ironed out, and you start zooming. 8 masking is going to be a challenge but that is also the point.
Not really looking forward to 5 mask SW, let alone 8. When fully upgraded though it should go just fine.
Yeah, me too.
But, as others have pointed out, there just isnt any warning that it is going to happen so I couldn’t come up with a solution last night.
According to WoWHead, killing that guy is not required…but I’m not sure where we would make up the % if we skipped him.
Yeah, I only had bug man sp awn after a full clear, although I didn’t try skipping it…
I’ll mess around with it before work.
Hard for me to believe the player base is content with them bringing recycled content back in the first expansion of the trilogy. Let me guess, islands expeditions next expansion? There will be a thread just like this one talking about how much they loved them.

Bruh, for years there have been near-daily posts on here and r/wow with people asking Blizz to bring back old content because it’s just sitting there doing nothing, they enjoyed it and want to play it again, or missed it the first time around and would like to experience it.

I’m enjoying it once I stopped panicking. I get stressed in timed stuff and it’s bad for my anxiety, and I was missing really obvious stuff. But I told myself I didn’t care, and then it got better and I was able to do a few achievements.

That’s what classic is for, they’re up to mop this summer.

Isn’t the entirety of Classic, all versions of it, ‘recycled content’?
Really, considering that, Visions isn’t that bad.
Just because it was content used prior doesn’t mean it’s inherently bad.
So messed around, did it with no mask, Nemesis and Multitudes.
No mask, it’s impossible. There’s not enough enemies, and you’re 14% off. Nemesis doesn’t add to %, neither does Multitudes.
He’s completely unskippable.

It’s not a controversial take. I never did the original version this is all new to me and fun.
It’s only controversial to the grumpy jaded people who would be better off taking a break from this game for an expansion or two but can’t because the FOMO is too much
And this is probably why you have a hard time understanding it: you are using buzzwords, instead of critically thinking about it.
Potentially, potentially not.
Unlike Visions, folks ran them mostly as a “I have to do my weekly run” or as a “I’m farming X thing, either to sell on the auction house or because I want it.”
Island Expeditions weren’t very well liked but also not disliked, they mostly were just… there.
Horrific Visions were tremendously well-liked by people, that’s the big difference.
You can find threads of people talking about just about anything and everything. Saying this is the same thing as saying “I can find a single person talking about this ultra niche thing via Google, so therefore lots of people must be talking about it!”
Horrific Visions were well-liked, as demonstrated by at the time people’s reception and perception of it in-game.
Use less buzzwords and critically analyse things more often and you’ll be able to understand why folks really like Horrific Visions as an activity. Not just as a means to an end but as an actual activity as well.
I absolutely agree they are fun but the timegating is hot garbage.
They are barely time gated at all. Especially considering how they were initially.
They are fun but only because I’m bad at them. (Haven’t done 8 mask successfully yet.)
