I feel like i’ve tried everything and cannot find a solution.
I enabled gamepad control on wow for my ROG Ally and cannot seem to get things to work properly when downloading console port. The default gamepad buttons interfere with the console port addon and cannot seem to be undone in any meaningful way. I’ve tried /console gamepadenable 0, nothing. Another suggestion on a seperate forum was “/console gamepadenable 0, then resetting to default in keybindings, then /console reloadui”… goes back to the same problem. I’ve also heard unbinding all controls will work. Still nothing.
My big primary issue is that the addons button controls will not be used aside from switching to different wheels. When pressing the button it automatically uses for jump (A), it opens chat. I cannot find the keybind that says that A opens chat in the keybind interface (I’m 99% positive it is a WoW native keybind as this was the case before installing the console port addon). B opens up the main menu… Pressing the buttons that correspond to certain spells do not cast those spells, yet clicking them does.
I’m at the end of my rope here because I’ve googled this, tried looking at different guides, youtube videos, the whole nine yards, and the only thing REMOTELY similar to the issue I am having is with Diablo 4… Can someone please help me out
I thought I did but tried it again. Some stuff is working but the right trigger is not working. Had kinda hoped that consoleport would work as the UI is a bit nicer but might not be the case. I’ll try and see if I can manually put in all the keybindings and report
Either way, thanks for the advice of going back and trying just regular keybindings again, may have saved me from unecessary headache. If anyone has any other advice or knows how to make RT work, let me know
Edit
More than just RT does not work. The B button does not work to assign skills to it. I cannot assign buttons to the D pad. The icons for the gamepad won’t even show up on the hotbar. I’m genuinely out of ideas
Edit 2
It would seem yet again… The correct solution is often the simplest one…
… Set your Asus ROG Ally from auto control mode to Gamepad control mode…
Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions. I will now be hiding in a corner for the next few weeks until the frustration wears off.
