Controller support?

So I heard that dragonflight added legit controller support but could not figure out how to enable it. After googling I found an old thread from 2 years ago that mentioned a console command which did work but still leaves much to be desired. I cant seem to find any combination buttons to accept and complete quests for example. Is the controller support still a work in progress?

I found a addon at curseforge.

ConsolePort is the name and has been updated 3 days ago…

well yeah obviously addons are a thing but I was interested in native support

I guess there are youtube videos you can look at.
I did not try without the addon, but yes it is in the game.

watched youtube videos they havent been helpful. Do you have experience using a controller? If so, how do you accept and complete quests?

I spent a few hours last week trying to just move around and yes questing.

I have a Microsoft flight stick with 10 plus buttons.
I could not get the camera to auto look like my mouse works. I gave up before I got it to work correctly.

Once you put addon in. The right side of the keybind menu let’s you make the buttons on the controls the same as the action bars. Putting a one button macro on the trigger allowed me to interact with the NPC and F is default if you turn it on in the menu.

So you don’t have experience and shouldn’t have even replied here. Thanks

So how has your experience been using the controller?
Knowing the addon leaves keybind after you remove the addon means you only need addon for the programming the keyboard to the controller.
So I use the controller almost every day to to stuff, but addon has been gone for sometime.
Good luck not trying it … I guess.

/console GamePadEnable 1 is the command you’re looking for. however I would note that at least for me it will cause the launcher to crash after it’s enabled. (when it works it lets me use my razer tartarus thumb stick as a joystick.) So just be aware that outcome may be present for you too. You end up having to edit one of the config files to remove the enable line if it does cause you to crash.
