Continuous cloning option for vanilla servers to TBC/Wrath

I have a suggestion for Blizzard in regards to the cloning service. Currently if you create a new character in the vanilla classic servers you cannot clone your character to the TBC servers. I would like the option to be able to level in vanilla classic to 60 and then transfer or clone my character to TBC when the time is right. For Blizzard, this would be a money maker, and for the player it would be a convenience saving them from having to start new characters if they want to progress to TBC and Wrath.

I guess I don’t quite understand.
You make a character on the servers in TBCC but you remain in Azeroth doing Classic things (the 1-60 content). Why is the transfer or clone needed?

Might keep classic era more populated and why not?

Id make an argument if there was a bigger population, but there can’t possibly be.

That’s kinda where I was heading.
It’s easy to assume something would be a money maker if you are interested in it.
Most of the people playing Era are interested in that iteration of the game and would have moved on to TBCC if they were interested in that. The numbers of people on the seasonal server that have titles/gear/achievements that they want to bring forward are not that many (as SoM was very niche and didn’t have a big population - just larger than Era at this time) and the effort on the company’s part to facilitate that isn’t simply flipping a switch and pocketing the cash.

I get people who love the Era timeframe want to stick with it - or even play this seasonal server to have a larger pool (than what is currently in Era) to play with - but the progression is in TBCC and soon to be Wrath. If you want to progress at some point to Wrath then you should start developing community bonds with others that too want to progress and create a character on a server currently in TBCC.

This is what Blizzard should have done in the first place but they decided to do 1 snapshot date then screw over anything done afterwards. This ensured most of us would go to crusade and never come back to classic. At this point classic is toast unless they host a new version with the crusade or wrath patch on it. That’s what SOM could have been but they decided to totally waste the opportunity. In the end, classic/crusade will be failed experiments which players used as a train station for wrath.

With regard to names, I suspect many will become available again in Classic Era after July 26th. The toons that never chose an expansion will be automatically moved to the progression servers and the Era toons that were never unlocked will be deleted.

Also, I’m not sure what it is you’re saying about auto-dismount requiring an addon in Era. That may have been true before SoM but it isn’t true now. Auto-dismount is the default setting in Era and the Gameplay menu should have a checkbox to toggle On/Off that setting.

why on earth would that be allowed? lol
