This doesn’t sound like a religious metaphor to me.
Again, as I said to Somand when not presented with evidence my assumption is generally the negative. I would say that until we see evidence otherwise, we should really assume all races use equivalent abilities.
Not to mention, I believe this discussion began surrounding Forsaken paladins, who are literally the people that extract is talking about. Lordaeronian paladins.
For the record, I don’t have any issue with Forsaken paladins really. They’re not my first choice, but I could see some very cool stories to be told that. Especially since Bastion has shown us first hand a connection between Death and the Light.
I don’t mind them so long as the gloves are the same style and match. It kills me when I have an outfit that has these chunky gloves but socks for boots so I look awkwardly proportioned. I do a lot of non-robed variants of existing sets since I don’t always want to be stuck in a dress, but some of them suffer from the above mentioned awkwardness.
A good example for comparison is Mage tier 5 and its pvp recolor. Mage tier 5 has matching “sausage” boots, but the boots for the pvp set use the flat sock “model” making the legs look spindly. Here’s what I mean:
See? It’s the same texture on the pvp “boots” (though recolored) but it’s using socks instead of “sausage” and I think the “sausage” looks better since it balances out the lower half of the body compared to the upper half. If the gloves were flat too, then the socks wouldn’t be so bad.
Unrelated, but mixing and matching the shoulders from the Tier 5 set and the pants and belt from the Merciless Gladiator set works great for a Sunreaver mog.
It would be better if the shoulders had gold on them, but this was the best Sunreaver mog I could manage.
My last day posting, I wanted to say goodbye to my long time friends in this thread. Idk if I’ll be back, I just don’t love this game any more. I feel like blizz ruined the lore and it’s direction for me to a point where I don’t even pay attention to their version.
Good luck and I wish y’all the best! Hoping for your customizations!
But he mentions it consistently throughout the book. It’s given as the explanation for why he, a human, was able to fight Eitrigg, who Tirion is basically terrified of when they fight since he’s an orc who fights with discipline and patience since his experience of orcs was from the second war, and not get totally rolled.
He says he feels significantly weaker after being excommunicated and having his powers taken back.
They are from different viewpoints and different cultures and different gods, however the Sunwalkers joined the Silver Hand in Legion, Darkspear druids joined the Cenarion Circle, because Sunwalkers are still paladins and Gonk’s devotees are still druids.
Assuming that their powers must be different is a fairly large logical leap in the absence of evidence.
The thing is the only 2 important Forsaken priests who matter enough to give us some kind of insight into their philosophical views are both die-hard Light worshippers. We know using the Light causes unbelievable physical pain to Forsaken priests, so I just don’t see taking up the Light essentially out of spite. I can see doing so out of zeal and conviction, but not even Forsaken are that insane.
No it does not, during the SLs development Bastion was going to be connected to the Light and that’s why Uther went there but it got changed and I have serious, serious donkey brains.
The fact that such powers can be “revoked” bugs me if they want it to be that the Paladin is infused with the Light and it’s fundamentally a part of him. The two concepts seem to be at odds from my perspective. If someone else can just “turn your Light off” then is it really a part of you?
While yes your arms can be cut off… they can’t usually be re-attached with full functionality and no consequences so easily. If Paladin Light powers can be turned on and off like a switch, I’d say that’s different than having limbs removed.
And that’s another thing. Who gets to be the one in charge of the Light switch? How does the “Paladin Prime” have this power and authority, and why?
Which is why I think it’s more akin to a blessing.
Not something that makes them somehow different.
It’s less that they must and more I don’t want to assume.
They get their power through the light in ways that are unexplored.
You’re right though I have no evidence to the contrary either.
The two I’m aware of have immense faith in the Light and did before their deaths.
They specifically wouldn’t be that way.
This would have to be a new order deciding to take the Light and use it against their enemies. Or be a new order dead set (ha pun) on proving they’re not the same everyone thinks they are.
(given the Blood Elves these Forsaken might have to steal it).
I prefer willful.
Darn.
I was hoping there was some sort of binder I’d have just missed.
Though I imagine paladins are likely candidates for Bastion regardless.
Yeah kinda like this.
That seems… A might bit extreme for this comparison.
I was catching up with all the replies in this thread and saw this and that makes me sad, however and like anyone else if you come back I will greet you warmly and if not I will miss you dearly even if we didn’t always agree on everything.
