I’m actually mad that anima got auto-corrected into anime, and I don’t even watch anime.
Sounds like blood elves. Wait… blood elves but blue?
I knew it! I knew the Kyrians were secretly void elves!
nah, blood elves eats the manawyrms, not use it as a powersource.
Besides they don’t to seem to go overboard with it either, they only take what they need, like good hunters.
They drained the wyrms’ mana to ease their addictions, which at the time they were under the impression that they had to do or they’d die. Sounds pretty similar to me.
Neither did blood elves. Those who did go overboard ended up as Wretched.
Blood elves did it for pretty much the same reasons the Kyrians did, one of them was the need for power to maintain their city, and defend it against the undead. The kyrians were doing the same thing, only instead of absorbing it and powering it themselves, they used vessels to transfer said-power.
It’s like arguing the difference between drinking directly from the tap, or pouring it into a cup. In the end, they resorted to draining the local wildlife to empower themselves.
Which would pretty much equate the Wretched with the Forsworn Kyrian, who we see mercilessly sapping the anime out of pretty much anything to sate their hunger for power/ascension.
F in the chat for Snowsong’s auto-correct.
Was just about to say. Also:

Now I can only picture all of shadowlands fighting to recover their precious anime stores.
The arbiter is really just the owner of a local manga shop.
Bastion like Isekai anime, Necrolords get Shonen, Night Fae are really into Shojo and slice of life, and the Venthyr like either the really gory/dark stuff or comedy harems.
The second I saw Snowsong make the comparison I knew someone would bend over backward to make Blood Elves seem somehow more evil about it.
Some people really just don’t like either the redemption of Blood Elves or the fact what they originally did wasn’t so “evil”. I would note that my time getting to know a lot of HE fans before SL came out many were most excited for Kyrian, and were or are Alliance mains. When people make assumptions on if SL races become playable it normally goes Necrolords / Venthyr - Horde, Kyrian / Night Fae - Alliance.
What I’m getting at is, is there a connection between Alliance fans liking Kyrian on average more than Horde players? Idk, but I would note I find it questionable if people villainize Blood Elves while being Alliance fans who can somehow manage to find the redemption of the Kyrian who have similar questionable methods.
Most people who did that connection are either horde who think “all races that are hardcore dark should go horde” or people who just thought:
Kyrian are humans because uther,
Night Fae are Nelves because ysera
venthyr are belves because Kael’thas
Necrolords are orcs because draka.
Most pepole had no idea of the actual plotlines. But there wasn’t rally a correlation of “most people who like kyrian are alliance” or anything similar for any covenant.
Hey guys I can’t decide what’s the most fun Elf race on the Alliance since I’m starting to get burned out on the Thalassian Stuff. Are Night Elves Fun?
If you can find the evil in Blood Elves but excuse Kyrians and are an Alliance HE fan I would hope / think the point Snowsong made about similar methods in their desperation would maybe help those people realize their perception of Blood Elves was wrong.
Best not use use those words around night elves.
Edit: Try dwarves, I didn’t like dwarves until I leveled one for the armor.
being a short axe wielding maniac really “grows” on you.
Panda’s can also a fun new choice. My DK is a NE though and she’s cool. It’s funny to watch an unholy dk in full bone armor do that NE bounce idle animation. It legit makes me laugh.
I always thought Kyrians are humans because, well, they’re blue humans. Kyrian Uther is just his living form, but blue.
The thing is though… Uther, without wishing to spoil, isn’t even the Kyrian face. I mean. not like Draka for the Necrolords.
Course I guess the same could be said of Kael and the Ventyr. Maybe it’s just me. If I had to associate the Covs with the factions … it’s more
Bastion: Paladins (Specifically human paladins)
Ardenweald: Looks like a Night Elf zone
Maldraxxus: Horde, I guess because the whole honorable warrior thing, but it’s more a DK zone to me.
Ventyr: Belves. Not Horde. Belves. Because of the aristocratic nature of the culture. They just kind of remind me of Blood Elves (And not because “Evil” Besides, the Ventyr aren’t evil… at all)
No, but to someone who only has the Afterlives cinematics to go by, it could appear that way.
There are thematic similarities. An important difference here though is that the Kyrians use Arcane instead of Light.
For leveling, I mean.
Though come to think of it, I did have to keep 2 weapons, one int, one other, on my moonkin.
…hm.
I’ll probably wind up buying Sledge a cheap shield so I can start without terrorizing my healer.
On topic, I will probably be sending my orc death knight to Bastion unless the covenant ability is so bad for unholy/blood that it causes me physical pain. She’s all about that duty over self (un)life. Otherwise, Maldraxxus.
I literally never switch specs on most of my toons. So I only keep the one gear set.
Least of all my DK. I don’t tank, so Blood’s out and picking Frost over Unholy is like going to a fancy Italian restaurant and ordering the bologna alfredo with meat sauce. (Just kidding Frost fans. You know I love you.)
