Each faction was originally going to have more hero units. Presumably, rangers didn’t make the cut for the human faction when they reduced hero unit numbers down to 3 because Blizzard found them redundant with their newly created night elf faction.

Eh, I would say the lore is solid enough to included in “Rp Canon” without much push back. There were probably plenty of groups in the Eastern Kingdom (especially before the Scourge) that we weren’t introduced to.

Just because we hadn’t heard of them, doesn’t mean they didn’t exist. And it’s not like a population of half elves in Lordaeron or Quel’Thalas wouldn’t make sense…give how Elves and Humans… well you know…

Oh, but this is the part you fail to design.

You see, there´s this piece of content -a 5 man dungeon- called “The Culling of Stratholme”, with truly innovative technnology in which Horde players get their avatars transformed to look like any rando Alliance races to participate without breaking the freaking story; also it just has been available since Wrath of the Lich King.

You can get your Sunwell invasion scenario depicting Belves and their Horde allies valiantly and competently defending the territory without any freaking Alliance NPC involved, you see? If we Hordies have been able to run The Culling of Stratholme by proxy of impersonating a rando Alliance character since 2008, I´m quite confident Alliance players would be able to run the “Invasion and Defense of Quel´Danas” in a similar way.

No you simply are salty not all of us jump at the idea of “neutral” game story wise. Newflash man, after BfA the very last thing some of us want is to continue to witness the gross neglect the Horde characters get regarding CONSTRUCTIVE development just to put more whitewashing / heroic worship on the rando Alliance Mary Sues / Gary Stus. Did you enjoy to rescue Baine and save Jaina´s behind from the victimized Sunreavers in 8.2? Cause I hated it, and If it depended on me I wouldn´t quest with ANY Alliance / formerly Alliance / Alliance flavored character EVER AGAIN if it exist a character in the Horde that can fulfill the same job.

And in your Sunwell scenario, we have a whole freaking cast of poorly developed Horde heroes that could get some decent screentime for once.
