Continuation of New Customisation Options for: Void Elves, Blood Elves, & misc high elves

Agreed. It’s such low hanging fruit and such an easy win. It’s hard to believe Blizzard would pass it up when there’s no downside to making it available to players.

Kinda feels like whenever someone asks for something for this type of Elf, Blizzard has extreme adversity to it for a long time.

My long running theory has been they want more player diversity and are trying to make Pretty Elves look bad next to all the amazing things other races have to force race changes.

Hey Guzzle. Do you mind if I join you guy’s discord. I won’t cause any Issues. Given the Past History since I have turned on a new leaf.

They are oddly resistant to implementing it. I believe they’ve even thrown shade at us in the past.

well the usa is in upheaval atm. trump just banned tencent, tiktok, and a few other chinese programs. tencent is working with blizzard on diablo immortal, if i’m not mistaken. on top of that, the dems have wargamed the election results and think it’ll be civil war regardless and so they want to secede the west coast from the union. this means blizzard would be potentially not allowed to be accessible from the rest of the country. this is all going on in the backdrop. its why i keep saying i hope they hurry up and release shadowlands so we at least get to play it before the silliness of global politics destroys western civilization.

i think someone said unreal engine is involved in this too. what a mess. reading up on it now, epic games owns unreal and tencent owns 40% of epic. tencent also has some ownership of…discord.

there’s some debate that it only applies to webchat programs owned by tencent and not to games owned by tencent. i suppose that means discord would have to pay off tencent.

anyway, if they farm out art assets to artists in china, all of this political drama could be slowing down everything.

snippet from the reuters article

Donald Trump issued executive orders on Thursday banning any U.S. transactions with ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns video-sharing app TikTok, and Tencent, owner of the WeChat app, starting in 45 days.

reading that, it sounds both like tencent is flat out banned and/or that it may only apply to wechat. but if the whole company is banned, talk about butterfly effect. tencent has their fingers in almost everything game related.

and its against their subsidiaries, too. just read more of the legal jargon. tencent has 5% of blizzard. this move would remove most of blizzard’s competitors but blizzard would have to pay off tencent’s 5%. check this out

Tencent ownership stakes in gaming

Riot Games: 100% Tencent
Supercell: 84% Tencent
Epic Games: 40% Tencent
Blizzard: 5% Tencent
Ubisoft: 5% Tencent
Dozens of other developers with some sort of Tencent involvement.

they’ve got 45 days to comply. holey rusted metal batman :grimacing:

Don’t have enough time to unpack all of that so I’m just gonna say:

I hope blizzard releases dark rangers for belfs and farstrider and runic/arcane tattoos for both belf and velf.

Also orange eyes for belfs.

I thought you were in upheaval about death squads cruising around gunning down black people.

An American dies once every 80 seconds from covid and we have imbeciles who refuse to wear a mask or social distance because some tiny-fingered, cheeto-faced, ferret wearing bloviator made being a decent and socially responsible person a political issue.

Flips a bench.

He is not banning tencent. If you would read the news articles from reputable news sources, you’d know that the gaming arm is not affected.

Holy crap. I had no idea it was that bad in America. I hope you guys are keeping safe.

I’m staying home except for groceries and when I go out I wear a mask like a civilized person.

Though I’m pretty sure I had covid back in February.

Most of us are following the recommended protocol.

Wear your mask, wash your hands, don’t be an [redacted].

I mostly don’t go into stores or such unless I absolutely have to and I use sanitizer when I get something from another person.

Much like Rialius there I think I and my husband have already had it but I’m not going to waste the local hospitals resources on testing to find out.

We were exposed to people who were at a military base where they sent people from a cruise ship on quarantine and the people handling the quarantine didn’t have ppe or any clue what they were doing.

We all got very terribly sick for 3 weeks. I bought masks and we ordered groceries and meds. Did have to go to CVS for some meds.

NyQuil makes some killer cold and flu gelcaps. They got me through it. Felt like I was going to die. I had no immunity to it and I had my flu shot so it wasn’t the flu.

Well other than the anti-maskers because everything in america has to become political in some way I guess.

“The mask can suffocate you even though that’s never happened before!”

“The virus is a farce made by the left to try and get trump out of office!”

Thankfully they’re not a majority. They are a stunningly large number for supposedly educated people.

It’s easy to forget how dangerous Covid is when people treat it so casually. It hasn’t been too close to where I live–thankfully–but I haven’t seen a single person wearing a mask yet. If it does hit us, I feel like there’s no way we’re not going to spread it fast.

Hopefully we’ll be prepared for when/if it does spread to our little area.

Both of those aren’t even exaggerations, I have relatives that legit believe both of those things because they listen to the very credible “doctors” on facebook and fox news.
