Content Release Too Slow - People Quitting

I know that most people have thought content was being released too fast, but now, my opinion is that content release needs to speed up from this point forward.

The reason for this is because the majority of the player base is now 60. On the high population server I’m on, you can get a feel for other guilds’ progression, and when 90- 95% of guilds have MC on farm, then players are bound to get bored and quit.

The release of content isn’t the same as it is in Vanilla any longer - there are no unknowns for players. We watch Youtube videos to get the strategies down and know exactly what to do, so we clear (PVE) content at a much quicker pace. Even PVP has been whittled down to “how do I grind Honor/Rep as fast as possible”, which seems easy to determine.

Now that the majority of players are 60 and have been farming MC, players in general will want that carrot displayed in front of them to keep wanting to play. You can see it in player attrition right now - players in MC farming guilds just stop playing because there’s no reason to continue to do so, especially if they got a few of the pieces they want in MC already.

Resulting from all of this is also the feeling that there is no “progression guilds” when practically 95% of guilds are clearing MC at the same. What differentiates one guild from another when there is no meaningful progression to be had? Only the cultures.

Please release all of the content faster, otherwise people will become bored and quit.

That’s not a bad thing imo. I play for the people.

why would anyone care what other guilds are doing outside their own?

Back in Vanilla days, you got a sense for which guilds were the “top ones” on your server based on progression. It’s a pretty superficial thing to care about, I agree - who really cares. But that was a small point in the whole point of the post, in which we just need more content sooner for any meaningful sense of progression for any guild.

BWL is coming really soon. Prepare for the feeder guilds to run up against the Wall of Vael and fall apart.

I can’t wait for this exact moment to happen. I will revel in the shredded guild Tabards littering the streets of stormwind as I /dance with all the best players we poached

I think people are underestimating how easy it will still be for most people to clear even BWL content. The difficulty back in Vanilla was due to the unknown, but now that everyone has “bis gear” with literally all the strategies in video form, there’s no way that guilds will be stuck on any BWL boss for any length of time.

Timegating is for toddlers toddlers. That being said, people quitting because they’re “bored” is probably a good thing for the game. I read once that boredom is a sign of low IQ.

back then mmo’s weren’t widely played by the masses. it was a niche market in the eq/daoc days.

today’s gamers want to achieve everything, get the meta - etc.

classic content wasn’t hard back then and it isn’t now. herding 40 cats was a bigger challenge back then based on population.

so ya, back then, 2-3 guilds on each server were clearing classic content vs hundreds (i assume) these days.

judging your own accomplishments based on your guild vs another guild is crae crae land. it’s like some people only feel good about the game cause they’re “better” than other people.

Some people like competition, even in raid form - why do you think people flock to guilds like APES? because they’re “number 1 progression” or something, right? But what even is progression when 95% of guilds can do the same thing anyway (except for the difference in speed clears).

Can all of you complainers just stop, or go back to where you came from?

Goddam you are a relentless group of whiners.

I understand people are obsessed with the comparisons of others to feel better about their gameplay. I’m not refuting that.

I’m more or less saying it’s a game, no one really cares. I certainly don’t care if BWL is beaten in a day - it doesn’t affect my gameplay or fun.

The majority of the servers are killing all the content - just like the majority of the servers did back then.

You’ll see progression/etc as we get closer to naxx, but most guilds will probably sstill clear all the content - maybe not as fast, but it will happen regardless.

Nothing.

Maybe find a competitive game instead, or retail mythics

Not sure what gave people the idea classic was going to be harder than mythic raids or PVP oriented games with real ladders but I guess the cat is out of the bag now

So are you saying WoW Classic is not competitive???

No one said they wanted it to be hard or easy, it doesn’t matter, I’m saying people complete the content faster now and we need it sooner - that’s the whole point of the post.

WoW classic is the museum tour of vanilla wow. It’s not quite the same, but it’s similar ----> All the things that are released and will be released were ALL beaten LONG AGO → there’s nothing new to be competitive about - it’s all been done.

also, just want to point out, the sooner naxx comes out, the sooner everyone gets geared, the sooner everyone (ok ok, not everyone, but a large portion of players) will exodus on to the next game/server/etc.

Yes

Are you saying it is?

The people around me who quit can be summed up as “meh, not worth playing”. Don’t know if that has anything to do with the content available - I doubt it.

Which makes sense b/c there are people who plan their whole day to be at a museum, pay X amount for access, rush through all the exhibits and then complain there isn’t more to experience and now they are bored all b/c they decided not to take their time to enjoy what was presented to them. :man_shrugging:
