Just a general rant about stuff from old expacs being locked behind raids that cannot be performed solo by 120s, and for which there are approximately zero people ever grouping up.
I’d love to increase my Legion neck enchant, Mark of the Hidden Satyr, to rank 3, but I’ll probably have to wait for another expansion’s worth of power creep to be able to handle the raid myself.
I’d also love to experience the story (defeat Kil’Jaeden, find Illidan’s soul, etc…) but those also happen in raids, that, again, cannot be completed by one person.
Thoughts on this? Once something is quantifiably “old content” should there be a mechanic that opens up instances to solo players at (current) max level?
There’s an NPC that allows you to complete the raid as “Raid Finder” which should make it solo-able for a max level character. Unsure if that helps to get the enchant, but it’s worth a shot!
Legion is only one expansion behind us, once the next expansion launches it will receive the hidden Legacy Content buff treatment and be easier to solo in most cases.
It does, yes. Legacy loot rules will apply once we hit 121 (or whatever happens in 9.0)
Are you sure about this? I regularly see Legion raids going up in the Legacy Raid group-finder for transmog runs. Otherwise as others have said, there should be a LFR queue NPC in Dalaran.
One of my Warlocks was able to solo the Emerald Nightmare quite easily, which is what I am guessing is the first Raid you are talking about. I haven’t tried any other Legion raids.
But alas, you are a mage, so it may be a bit more difficult for you to solo it. So yeah, I’d expect next expansion to arrive before Legion raids become more soloable due to power creep and the legacy buff.
You can solo Mythic Xavius, assuming you can get past Nythendra’s dps check…
I don’t know where you’re getting that it’s impossible to solo Legion raids. Worst case scenario, you list a group in LFG and someone jumps in hoping for transmog drops. The place is a pushover with even just two people.
There’s this cool thing blizzard has implemented called group finder, you select legacy raids, make group for a raid, and people join up, you don’t need to say a word.
You’re sitting in a hole with a ladder planted right next to you, all you need to do is climb it, but instead you ask for an elevator.
My wife as a resto pally and myself tried the Kil’Jaeden raid when we were 120 and probably about ilvl 390. We made it through most of the raid but got destroyed by… like… the second last boss several times.
After that I figured, especially solo, I don’t stand a chance. And my wife doesn’t want to waste any more time in “old content”.
Well, she is maining Classic right now so maybe she prefers “old OLD content” hehe
I’m not certain if anyone pointed it out yet, or where he’s located - but to be able to queue for the LFR raid version of Legion’s raids, there is a mage in Legion Dalaran located just inside to the left as you go into the Violet Hold, that will allow you to choose which boss in the Legion raids you wish to go in to. You can do this solo, but if you choose to do Eoanor, it can be a pita solo, as it was, well…lol a pita in an entire grp imho lol
Or if you do not want to do it through LFR, there is always the LFG/Premade option, but I’m not certain it would get many bites, depending on the interest from ppl wanting to do old content.
I hope this helps you somewhat, and if not - I do wish you luck regardless!!
Tomb of Sargeras isn’t going to be wholly solo for a bit unless you’re the right person or class. There are a lot of mechanics and DPS checks you have to get through with only two people. Normal and Heroic groups you can probably find in the group finder with relative ease. Mythic groups will only clear up to KJ himself and dip out because he’s not worth the headache even now. Antorus groups often skip Eonar (although I heard she was nerfed to be easier?) and still have trouble once they get to Aggramar because his mechanics still matter enough. It’s more on a boss by boss basis in what is and isn’t difficult.
