I was just heading to my Garrison to pick up my daily potions from the Alchemy Hut. And noticed now the potions are unusable above level 50. Then I went to check the Swiftness Potion I got from PvP. Level 49! Then I started looking at the other potions! Level 49! Level 50!
How many old world items are now unusable in SL?
it was in recent patch notes. they also HUGELY increased the cd on things like mana and health pots to some rediculas length. i will never notice that personally though. havent used 1 since i was a noob in BC

Leatherworking drums now provide 15% Haste (was 25%).
War-Scrolls of Battle Shout, Intellect and Fortitude can no longer be used by characters above level 50.
Many consumables now have a 5 minute cooldown.
Water now regenerates mana slower in the first seconds you begin drinking, increasing to a rapid return as you drink continuously.
Potions are now 5 minute cooldown
It makes me think the WoW developers are from now on going to balance the entire game around Mythic+ esports
You are not wrong. I suspect that as well given some of the balancing changes in game.
All the haste enhancers like drums of fury and drums of the maelstrom will be rendered useless in SL, not just nerfed to 15% Or so I think I read, yesterday.

Does anyone have the Mallet of Thunderous skins? Did that change as well?
it ate the haste nerf last I checked on this guy so it’s down to 15% haste

Still works in prepatch, prolly gonna stop working at 51 or 50 when the expac actually drops though.
At least mallet works in instances. This “ub3r-spanner” I have is disabled in instances.
It’s over for good and all. There can be no more game veterans who hold even a tiny shred of hope for the return of wow.
All they’ve done is strip the art assets out and pasted a broken game on top of it. How many xpacs has this been going on? It is getting easier by the day to imagine a wow free life.
Yeah invis potions and Stealthman are also now only usable at 49.
Which is a real shame for me because I would often use camo to sneak around stormwind, and use stealthman as a backup plan if camo was running out and I needed more time. I’d stealthman and wait for camo to come back up then get another 60 sec to explore.
I really don’t udnerstand why a novilty gimick like stealthman was made unusuable… it was hardly game breaking.
stealthman was always great, if you had to go afk in the middle of a quest. It used to give you unlimited invis until you moved.
I used it to camp warmode air supply crates on my priest. When I heard the plane I would tab over and get the chest.

This has a nice list of items you may profit from or use yourself, including speed potions.
From my understanding they are adding a lot of these items in shadowlands professions, they just didn’t want you using old consumables anymore. Minus the buff scrolls, they removed those altogether so you actually have some value in inviting priests / warriors for example.
I remember trying to use the Sylvan Elixir. But the buff is removed as soon as you travel to a different expansion. Same as the Tents buff in WoD.
That guide is almost 3 weeks old. These days that means outdated and the information is sketchy at best given they are using the prepatch not to introduce the next expansion, but rather we are doing the job software engineers do assisting them in the final ruination of wow.

Stealthman was absolutely one of my favorite consumables to use. It provided me safety when camping rares out in Warmode. It will be missed.
