To you, it seems like I’m playing contrarian because I disagreed with you. However, I don’t have a problem with people who sync queue. In fact, I even tell them “good game” when given the chance. You’re upset that someone doesn’t fully agree with you, and when they don’t, you consider it trolling. My stance is that visual cues are a better solution rather than removing the feature from unrated battlegrounds.
I dont entirely think this is a horrible idea, but the radius HAS to be lowered and this added in, like im talking 5-7 yards max and not the size of a boss arena. You seriously understate how broken a 40 man premade having 40 sigil of chains on a 5 minute cooldown is.
also up the cooldown to 7:30 minutes imo and add a DR to it (you get gripped by one, you cannot be gripped again for 10 more seconds)
Yes exactly. I really do not understand this take that displacers are a threat to premades. It is entirely the other way around.
Right
Im being serious though, enchants are literally the weakest external way to make yourself do more damage in unrated pvp content right now.
Like alchemy potions are way better, engineering is better because of all the utility it brings, the buffs you can put on your weapons with runes are probably better too, gems are still very good right now, any singular piece of gear provides more stats than enchants currently.
Enchants dont scale with season, they scale with expansion, which is why they are so weak right now and will be so strong for S1 of TWW.
Nice insinuation. My values don’t align with their community. But I’ll remember next time that you can’t take feedback that doesn’t agree with you, so I won’t waste your time or mine.
You disparaged him because of the community he is in? Well alright then. I never said you were trolling but you have posted some misinformation. Such as the radius of displacers, implausible methods of countering them, and something about a charts showing the impact of enchantments.
I agree with Khazix that the area displacers cover is too large and the 2 second delay too small to make a visual cues meaningfully impactful.
not any more it ain’t.
blitz kills that because it gets rid of all the usual complaints players have about randoms.
epics? they will probably always have their crowd, as small as it is these days.
Any game mode that’s available for play should be looked after by the company. We all know they don’t develop anything that isn’t a rated solo queue, but that’s not really an excuse for lack of quality control.
When problems arise it seems easier for them to just create more ways to play rather than dealing with those problems. If they really don’t care about randoms/epics/wpvp or whatever…and they evidently don’t…then they might as well remove those things and only let people queue for Blitz/SS.
I’ll take note that asking legitimate questions about whether someone solo queues is considered disparaging, or that gloating about killing pugs with a displacer while in a stacked team is seen as commendable. One was a question, and the other was a response to his gloating.
First, I wouldn’t suggest spreading out if it didn’t work for me. Second, I know when people will use displacers, so I’m not going to stand still and get caught. I’ve also been caught in displacers before, and all I had to do was use my defensive cooldowns to run far enough away.
Two seconds is plenty of time to react. That’s why juking exists. That’s why you can run away from a Shadow Rift that has a visual cue on top of you.
yeah. this item is insane for bgs with how strong aoe burst is from a lot of classes.
i will also admit to abusing this item.
According to Wowpedia, the default run speed is 7 yards/second. So, if your computer has zero latency to the bg server and you have superhuman instant reflexes, you can run 14 yards in 2 seconds. Realistically, there is some latency, your reflexes aren’t instant, and you need a moment to determine which direction you should go. You’ll be happy if you manage to run ~12 yards in a good direction.
Gravitational Displacer has a 20 yard radius.
Doesn’t Shadow Rift have a smaller radius? 10 yards?
Correct. It’s 2 seconds of animation and 10 yard radius.
Ohh I don’t like em or think they should be in any random instanced bg/pvp. But Blizz seems to think otherwise for a bit. Maybe they get their head on straight?
It should have Diminishing returns, Engineer ONLY, an AoE Cap and a smaller range.
Let engineers have fun.
I just think making it engineering only is probably fine
That nerfs it pretty significantly all things considered given engineering isn’t exactly the power house it once was
Yeah, maybe a 5 min cd raid wide.
something else to consider is that higher stam levels in TWW may negate the strength of the displacer, allowing players to survive the burst.
Maybe the easiest fix would be having it apply a 5min debuff to everyone in the zone that makes them immune to further displacers.
Wont mean anything, people will die in a displacer go whether it’s 10 people or 40. also seeing some of the classes come the next expansion…they’re a few that are nutty. hopefully not as bad as fire mage
Death, taxes, and people complaining about EBG items. There’s like 90 people who play this on the regular. Relax.
