Why not ask to remove even the enchantments on gear and alchemy pots?
Nerf all craftables, if we’re trying to be fair here.

Because they are not disgustingly overpowered.
Someone having Plainsrunner’s Breeze on their boots doesn’t degenerate fights in the same way that displacers do.
Alchemy potions share a cooldown with a lot of better things, like volatile crimson embers, dragon fruit, or shadowflame rocket. The only time I ever really people use an alchemy potion is potion of gust combined with a slow fall while carrying a flag.
Some of these items are arguably a bit extreme, but they do not impact entire team fights nearly as much as displacers.
It is not a matter of whether or not items should have an impact on combat. It is a matter of wo what degree they should impact combat.
I have a love/hate relationship with displacers…on one end it’s very funny seeing teams die in 00.5 seconds in a displacer go on the other end there is very little counterplay against it. people are goin to die in a displacer go in a premade vs premade match up…
They really have to go, but it looks like they’re staying come the next expansion
When 1 person can use this item to displace 20+ enemies and then knock them off a cliff, it’s broken/OP.
It gets even more ridiculous with premade raids coordinating its usage to roflstomp the other team.
Overall, it’s making PvP combat silly and less fun. The fact that this item hasn’t been disabled shows how little attention Blizzard pays to random bgs.
on one hand, i fully agree that displacers have changed the dynamic of teamfights for the worse.
on the other hand, they can be very useful and you can easily make a play of the game in an asymmetric situation.
grabbing everyone in 40 yards my be a bit much, its even better than gorefiend’s grasp, maybe if it was redesigned to only pull a single targeted player it would be better. you could still pull some clutch plays, but it wouldn’t be as impactful on the game as it currently is.
and my anecdotal story:
last night we got into a EotS against another premade lead team, as we all met in the middle i displacer’d their whole team to the edge and send them all flying with a pest fogger.
these moves are clutch, but thats a bit much, 1 player shouldn’t be able to counter a whole team and let alone do it in such a way that every other player on their team can also do the same quickly and easily in case of a quick recovery or counter by the other team.
and this goes for warlock ports too, a team with a few warlocks can completely dominate objectives with no counter by the other team. towers in AV is a perfect example, you can’t really run from the port and must use a magic defensive, but if there is two locks, the second port will get you and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
these abilities need to be looked at and if they aren’t being removed, maybe have a raid wide cooldown similar to battlerez in pve. as soon as one player uses the item or spell, it goes on cooldown for everyone.
Enchantments last for the full duration of the game and can provide a significant advantage. Charts show this clearly.
Displacer Bombs:
Can’t believe this has to be said out loud, but a practical approach to countering this is to avoid standing in clumps. This strategy not only mitigates the impact of displacers but also living bombs.
Consider maintaining a spread formation and utilizing defensive cooldowns as necessary to enhance your team’s resilience.
In a Horde tower in AV there isn’t much of a choice.
Have you seen the range on these displacers? it really honestly doesn’t matter how spread out you are.
A tower is not outdoors. I dont recall having it worked inside a tower. I maybe wrong.
random bgs etc. are a playground. just let people do what they want. rated exists if you want to take things a bit more seriously.
how spread out you are
Living bombs have taught me how important it is to keep your distance. It’s tough to unlearn standing in clumps or even gauge how far 20 yards is just by eyeballing it. But spreading out and using defensive cooldowns can really help.
If I’m not mistaken, just like Shadow Rift, you also have 2 seconds to run before you get pulled in.
pulling all enemies within 10 yards
The rank 3 displacer is 20 yard, ie a 40 yard diameter orianna ult with no diminishing returns. It is not good for the game at all and neither are the other consumables. When I see a class in pvp I want to play around that class/spec’s abilities, not them plus a bunch of other random junk.

Pretty much the only answer. I have abandoned unrated bgs because of blizz’s “playground” attitude toward them. Ironically, rated is easier because rated rules are easier to play with.
Premade vs Premade Fury warrior PoV. At the 2 min mark there is 5 or 6 displacers used in the opening AV fight. Enemy team was stacked over and over as they were slaughtered. Warrior spikes over 4 million dps. This was 5 months ago.

That guy is making warrior look good sheesh, I personally dont mind the consums, but giving everybody sigil of chains makes unrated pvp content look like m+ and is absolutely horrible to play.
I’m just imagining someone telling horde to simply spread out as they push up the choke point to hangar.
Cooldown: 5 minutes.
2.5 min if you’re an engineer
Anyway, probably best not to engage the troll any further.
seems like someone is upset at Dida
No meme whichever one of you communities linked this thread in their disc to spam report Dida’s posts- of which there are zero ToS violations- I hope every single one of you enjoy a long vacation for abusing the feature
I don’t even care about the topic but this is the most egregious abuse of the flagging system I’ve seen on this website in years
Actual grown adults
Discussing the inner workings of a displacer appears to be distressing them. Sorry about that.
it must be, im looking at your posts and nothing is really offensive or trolling, someone is brigading
Im pretty sure everybody here agrees displacer gotta go. not sure whose reporting dida but daamn
I’m not a fan of removing things from unrated battlegrounds. I would prefer getting a visual cue when the displacer is thrown at my feet and a timer showing when it will detonate.
