I have three versions of WoW and all three are updating multiple times per day…every day. What is going on? My computer time is being absolutely consumed by WoW updates.
Normally it does not update multiple versions daily, something else might be happening with your device. This is the support knowledge base on things you can check locally.

I am aware that this is not normal. What I want to know is when is it going to stop? It is not my device’s fault that YOUR software keeps shoving updates at me. If this isn’t fixed, I’m going to bail on Blizzard completely.
Green text = volunteers. We don’t work at Blizzard, so it’s not OUR software.
This problem is caused by a block or configuration on the local machine, not the Bnet app.
Im also getting this.. last couple days, ive been getting updates (multiple gigabytes) installed for Forever, retail and classic installs, multiple times per day.
That is a rather rash assumption, if you ask me…since Battle.net decides when an update is needed.
Most MVPs have been troubleshooting long enough to know that this problem “mysteriously” goes away after people make changes to their system outside the Bnet client. Things like antivirus software, malware detection, VPNs, OneDrive, Dropbox, corrupted admin permissions. All of these affect Bnet’s ability to function properly.
these constant updates started after maintenance yesterday and is still happening, what is going on here
Updates can make security apps view the game or client as a completely new program.
Well…no mystery is happening here. I’ve been playing WoW on this computer for several months now without a hitch. I made NO changes to the computer’s configuration and Bnet/ WoW is the only thing I have installed on it. This computer is exclusively for WoW. Then suddenly the update massacre happens. I’d say it is on Battle.net’s end…not mine.
Is retail wow supposed to also update 10GB when it does update? I tend to see a few hundred MBs or rarely a few GB when updating the other games (Wow:forever and classic) but Midnight/retail seems like its 10GB every time it updates.
I have done everything possible to try and fix this with no results, every time I either play WoW or start up battle net it wants to update almost all versions I have installed.
I am having this issue as well. Three version of WoW and constant downloads. Never the same size anything from a few hundred Megs to 16 gb. I have gone to the page for fixes and I have done everything but, uninstall and reinstall. Nothing I have tried makes a difference. This started after I installed Warcraft: Forever.
YES! WTF IS GOING ON? EVERY TIME I OPEN THE LAUNCHER FOR THE LAST WEEK THAT I’VE NOTICED. Really tired of handing money over to companies and getting silence when there is an issue.
hmm going to try and uninstall Forever see if that will fix it
hmm well that didn’t fix it, please help with these constant updates
Having the same problems as all above. Can’t seem to find any fix on my end either.
Ok when are these updates going to stop, have tried everything with no results
