Hello! I decided to fire up an external SSD I had just sitting in a junk drawer. I used it before was fine, but now ever since I put WoW back on it, whenever I open battlenet, WoW does a patch or update both retail and classic. I made sure I switched the designated folder to the SSD, but this is still happening, and it is extremely annoying. I looked up a fix but didn’t seem to find one. I know it’s a known bug for a while, and obviously, it has something to do with my switching WoW back to the SSD. WoW plays fine otherwise. Does anyone have any advice or fixes? The updating is just a few minutes each time, but that’s weird!
This type of issue can be caused by the wrong format(Needs to be NTFS file system), the drive being unplugged, or permission error.
External drives are not supported, it’s best recommended if you need more space for the game to add it to an internal drive connected via SATA or M.2 then install via a sub folder for example D:\Blizzard Games.
