No doubt one of these days the base ui would almost and no doubt kill most addons that people use in the game.
thats what they are trying to do. they are updating the ui to include features most people use and only the addons they havent implemented will be used. They are also updating game mechanics so that they dont need all the unnecessary tactics theyve implemented to thwart addon abuse.

I hope there comes a time when I don’t need addons to tracks procs and resources since the base blizzard UI is so bad at it. I would love not to have to make weakauras just to track basic resources that my classes may need to function.

They can’t even provide options to customize base frames much beyond sizing - so lots of doubt.
Maybe 5 years from now.
