Constant micro stuttering TWW

I have noticed a lot of micro stuttering when flaying or even moving the camera too fast. Most of the stuttering happens when flaying but also in dungeons or questing. Lowering the graphics to 1 works out but clearly this shouldn’t be the solution. Lowering Compute effects also make its better but still are some drops once in a while.

PC: 13700K + 4080 + 32GB. Game running in a m.2 PCIe 4.0 only for games, OS on a separate m.2.

I am having the same issue with the same exact PC setup. Its specifically bad in Dornogal or any hub where there are players, so I believe it is related to loading in players. Capping framerate doesn’t seem to fix the issue for me.

Space wise, do you have enough space to move wow onto the same drive as the operating system?

A quick Google search seems to also indicate not using 4 memory slots in this build.

I’m having similar issues with a 4090. My fps can run at a stable 144 but I get frequent drops to 60-70 when flying or in towns (even if they are empty)

Yes, I have. I can try it later today. And I only use 2 ram slots.

Also no crashes or thermal throttling due to the intel 13th-14th gen oxidation issue, platform is still stable.

Anyone get a workable solution for this issue?

Test the one that I stated before, disabling opional gpu features. You can try turning off Compute effects too.

I still get some fps drops, but way less than before.

Putting wow on the same ssd as your OS won’t fix the problem, because that’s what I’m doing, and I’m still having the problem.

Disabling the optional gpu features isn’t fixing the problem either.

It’s definitely related to towns/being in the vicinity of players, but also seems to occur more often in areas of zones that are overlapped with seperate layers, such as areas that are part of campaign quest chains. Areas that change after completing the quest.

I put the game on nvme and still the micro stuttering continued, any solution?

Drive changes usually only affect load times.

Do any of the “new” GPU feature boxes ticked at the bottom do anything? ‘Optional GPU Features’ and ‘Advanced Work Submit’ can sometimes trigger crashes in particular, though I can’t speak for any of them, since I have no issues with all 5 on my 7900 XT.

Has anyone found a fix for the stuttering? I have micro stutters 100% of the time when my toon starts to move.

I’ve had this issue since DF. It’s awful. Very difficult to deal with while racing too.

Pre-TWW release, my game would run fine on 5 on the graphics slider. No issues anywhere but Valdrakken (but Valdrakken was a nightmare for anyone tbh). Now I have to run it on the 4 mark to be able to function.

Since release, I’m getting massive fps drops in places that I shouldn’t - places that don’t exhibit anything that would normally cause the fps drops (ie, mass amounts of models like Valdrakken or any heavy populations of models). The forge area in Dornogal is rough, I drop from my normal 60 to mid 40s, lowest I’ve seen is mid 30s (yes it is the main city, but it is nowhere near as crowded/active as Valdrakken was). Mid 40s also in Mereldar near the sparring area/renown vendor, Gundargaz is mid 40s-low 50s.

Nokhud Offensive. I never had issues with that place in DF. Now flying anywhere near the last area of that dungeon drops my FPS until I get inside the Hold.

Also have an issue with all moving models in Delves stuttering despite the FPS being fine. Like, actually pausing for a split second before continuing. My character models, moving NPCs, certain objects that are moving models and not terrain (like the steam pumps in Waterworks). Consistent stutters which appear to be based on distance (my char running has it happen every second or so, walking NPCs have it happen maybe every 5+ seconds). Seemed fine 2 weeks ago so IDK what happened with them for me. Don’t remember a hotfix being pushed that would break them.

Reinstalled WoW, drivers updated. Seen a slight improvement in Gundargaz on the 5 setting but I’m still having to use 4.

An update on this. My problems seems to be gone when I uninstalled Exitlag. If anyone is using it, I would recommend to do some tests without the app.

My fps are more stable now running everything on max in open world and instances.

Edit: typo

Good to know.
