I have been having the same issues. the game has become unplayable since the last patch for me. I have tried every suggested solution to no avail. There doesnt seem to be an answer, nor does anyone at blizzard seem to want to admit its even an issue.
Same here and it seems to be with our chips. So i downloaded Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and pulled the cores back to x52 and pulled the efficiency core back 1 and so far its not crashed? Give that a try if you are willing and tell me if that helps you!
I did a full reinstall of UI and game and did like every possible diagnostic step and nothing worked. Longest I’ve gone without crash so far and its after doing that Intel Extreme step
I’ve had the same issue, only with WOW. After trying lots of different suggestions from the boards, I did kind of the same thing as Remstery. I changed the processor affinity to only use the P cores on the wow.exe. I have a 13900KF. So far I haven’t had any crashes, but unfortunately you have to do it each time you launch wow.
This is definitely something Blizzard needs to fix. For me it only started a few weeks ago and I’ve been playing WOW on this computer for about 1.5 years.
This is an Intel issue. Named as such by Intel, listed as a major issue with stability by Intel. The chips are danging themselves, sometimes to no longer function, due to issues with voltage and perhaps other things.
It may be an Intel issue, but the problem is in WoW Retail. I played beta with no problem, no wow.exe crashes. In retail, every time I tried to log in a character it crashed.
Correlation does not imply causation. The intel chips do have issues because motherboard manufacturers were allowing the voltage to go too high during heavy load. I have the new bios that stops it from doing that. And it was only an issue with some chips/motherboards, I’ve never had the BSOD caused by an intel chip.
The issue is wow.exe is having trouble with multi-core processors. Possibly just ones with efficiency cores. I play Diablo 4 on max graphics all the time. I play Baldur’s Gate 3 on max graphics.
If this was a processor issue, it would be happening in other games. I can guarantee you the graphics quality in Wow is nowhere near those games. Wow is designed for low end computers to be able to run it.
glad you were able to find a temp fix. i agree this seems to be entirely related to wow and intel because i have not had any issues with other games and i constantly play the latest released games lol.
I would try changing the Ratio down by 1x each time and see if it gets stable, for my 14900k I had to go to -2x pcore and -1x ecore to get it to work while I have heard others had to turn the pcores down by 4x or more.
Either way you may want to contact Intel and RMA that CPU.
I just started having this problem today. I was on for a few hours and no problem. Came back a few hours later and now I cant play for more than 10 minutes and I get this error. Reinstalling the game. I also have the I9 1300k but again never had this problem till tonight.
Then you should look into whats temporarily fixed the problem for other people in this thread! I wrote about what fixed it for me and others have tried and it works for them. Give it a try
still having this problem (albeit with reduced frequency after undervolting my cpu). started a few days ago with early access and has been unplayable at times due to INT_DIVIDE_BY_ZERO and memory violation crashes
i have tried everything that has been suggested throughout several threads here. WoW is the only game this is happening with
Just to follow up after extensive testing. Setting the processor affinity seems to fix the issue for me. If I don’t set it, I crash with the divide by zero error sometimes upon launching other times 1 to 2 hours into playing. However I played for 10 hours without a crash yesterday after setting the affinity.
Here’s how to do it you want to try it out. Launch the game, but before you select a character. Tab out, launch Task Manager. Go to the details page, find the wow.exe. Right click, go to Set Affinity. Unselect all cpu cores. I recheck 0-7 which are my P cores. If it works for you, unfortunately you have to do it every time you launch the game.
I just tried this and i crashed after ten minutes…
the ONLY thing that has fixed it for me is turning off turbo boost in my BIOS…which is seriously not cool.
PLEASE BLIZZARD HELP FIX THESE CRASHES!!!
i14900k here.
