Constant crash to desktop after patch 11.0.7

Hello everyone, hope you had a great new year and a good holidays.

Ever since patch 11.07 hit I’ve been having crash to desktop errors in wow this occurs mainly when I’m in raids or big group. I’ve disabled almost all addons thinking it was an outdated addon issue, but that didn’t fix anything.

Here’s an Imgur link to my spec and error message. Any help is greatly appreciated I’m getting quite frustrated with this problem.

Oh just to save time I have a 2TB NVME with only 338 GB of storage space consumed.

Disabling addons doesn’t entirely remove their ability to interfere with the game, so a UI reset is always recommended. You can backup all your settings, then do the UI reset, including resetting some client-side things.

I did that, and still crashed in a LFR i joined to test it out. Ran the LFR with absolutely no addons installed.

Where are you installing WoW?

C drive, i only have 1 drive

Your installing eow in the default path or custom? Program Files or Program Files (x86).

Edit
Now i see it’s in the (x86) path.
Do you have a recent dxdiag report?

that report was taken when i open the thread i can generate another one but idk how to paste it here.
wow installed in default path directly from bnet app

You can copy the full report to pastebin, then post the link in a code block to bypass the trust level issues.

i hope this works

Not sure what caused the bluescreen error, though i recently got one during an attempted windows update myself. Do you monitor system temps?

I fed the error bucket listed in the end to ChatGPT just to review. It’s got quite a few recommendations, sadly not easily copied from a phone.

General Recommendations

  1. Check Event Viewer: Look for detailed logs under “Windows Logs > Application” and “System”.
  2. Update Windows: Ensure you’re on the latest version with all patches.
  3. Run System Checks:
  • sfc /scannow
  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  1. Check Hardware:
  • Run chkdsk /f to detect and fix disk issues.
  • Test your RAM using Windows Memory Diagnostic.
  1. Debug Further: Use tools like WhoCrashed or BlueScreenView to analyze BSODs.

Let me know if you need help with any specific steps!

My error was crashing to window with memory error, I’ve never encountered any BSOD.

I’ve ran a sfc scan, dsim, did a windows memory diagnostics. I do not see any issue so far…

found this video on wowhead. This almost 1:1 of what I’m facing.

I did the intel test seems like my processor is okay?

UPDATE:
I followed the wowhead youtube video recommendations, went onto Intel downloaded the checker it showed no error, tried to launch wow it showed the error message as found in wow head post.

I then closed my wow and did another bios update. When i tried to launch wow the “notice” is gone.

I did 1 4/8 mythic raid, 1 LFR, and joined a random normal mode raid and no crash at all. Only DC once but no crash error message. Could be a fix but no harm trying for anyone that had same issue.

I don’t think a degraded processor would necessarily fail that diagnostic. Updating bios will stop it from degrading further, but it likely already has degraded hence the memory violations. RMA it.
