Is this like a way to deal with overhealing? I mean if everyone constantly getting damaged, there’s no overheal ever, so you can just spam aoe heals and be useful?
The forum healers were mad they had to dps, so blizzard made them heal. Now they’re mad they gotta heal
Sure whatever you say
I’m of the opinion that I shouldn’t be getting damaged as a DPS unless I’m personally screwing up and standing in/in front of something I shouldn’t be.
I don’t care how boring that might be for healers.
i would like that a lot as frost mage, since i can’t recoved my health unless ice block
There’s no pleasing bad healers ![]()
There just isnt that much outgoing damage this season. There’s a couple of trash pulls and bosses that have your standard heal check, but overall outgoing damage in everg dungeon feels like CoS, which is to say, not much
I honestly thought healers not needing to heal at moments meant they’re doing their job
Like if you’re seeing dps and tank doing alright, why are you stressing out?
In VP you’re like constantly getting you health sliced away with aoe, especially noticable on class without self healing
On the second boss it’s noticeable if the group doesn’t know how to get upwind but otherwise it’s really just not bad
That would mean healers wouldn’t even be a role in competent groups.
Basically your idea is bad
The tank would absolutely still need to be healed.
It’d lead to more toned down mechanics for fights. Things are getting ridiculous, too much stuff all over the place. Even Asmonbald is saying it’s too much now days, and he was always a trihard raider.
Theres fights, once you get to higher keys healers are having to output over 100k HPS for the entire duration of the fight.
Not really hard to hit right now
The occasional boss I find intensive. Maybe the occasional trash pull.
Most trash healing I find is based on how well the group does mechanics. Its a little more consistent than last season. But with adequate playing from group members, its not bad.
Pretty much. Healers went to their Union to complain to Blizzard how overhealing should not increase their aggro especially since most DPS keep standing in the fire.
As a healer main, its more of “people are stupid and think healers can’t toss out some damage on the side” and a little bit of what you said.
I saw both sides, out of the blue. First, nobody said anything about it really. But then suddenly the forums were filled to the brim with people getting mad that they got kicked out as a healer because they refused to do damage to help things move along a bit faster.
Again, as a healer main, I see no reason why you can’t throw out some damage.
I also see no reason why you NEED to do it. Healers don’t ask Hunters to heal the tank or themselves, so why do the healers need to also damage?
The point is moot in the end, however… I can’t see how the recent changes have helped anything.
I went from being able to kill quest mobs with a few Arcane blasts, to having regular enemies with the tiny health bars…not the normal ones, the little minions health bar…
Singular enemies were able to almost kill me.
My mage had not died once up until that point (in this expansion, solo content) so going one week of mobs being killable to mobs smacking me around…
Maybe the health pool changes need to go, or perhaps the enemies doing THAT much more damage.
Healers may be able to “have more fun” by having constant panic attacks over their party’s health go from 100% to 12% in a fraction of a second…But it is decidedly UNFUN to have minion level enemies be able to almost kill me.
Then add in that some “Elite” enemies, with the golden dragon around their frame…I can fight like ten of them no problem in most places, but some minions can kill me. Sounds unbalanced.
having run a lot of M+, I can definitely say that having 15% avoidance makesa difference.
I can also say that a bad tank makes an 11 feel like your undergeared in an 18.
