I think added races is a great idea. However, the manner of which Blizz will likely do it makes it a bad idea.
This can safely be applied to everything.
I’d love to see Goblins added as a race in Classic+! I’d love High Elves for the Alliance too. And giving Shaman/Paladin to both factions!
How would you feel about different races that share the same racials?
I think retail does this with varying sub-races, but I don’t know if they share racials.
For example, Night Elves, Wood Elves, High Elves, w/e you want, but they all share racials, so the difference is cosmetic only.
High Elves in classic’s ‘era’ iteration are not like Blood Elves or Night Elves. The High Elves that would make sense to join the Alliance would be the ones in the Hinterlands.
They don’t use Magic and would likely have differing racials and focus more on martial prowess. They could also likely be Paladins for the Alliance…
Still opposed to this though. Would like Paladins and Shamans to remain exclusive to their respective factions.
I’d be fine with that in cases where it makes sense, like Night Elves/High Elves, Humans/Kul Tirans, Dwarves/Earthen etc.
“Try our new goblin race now! Only available with purchase of the 90 dollar special edition of classic+”
It’s very likely I don’t play Classic+ just based on what I’ve seen happen in SOD, but if I was on the fence, and they were still keeping shaman/paladin separate, it would finalize my decision to not play it.
To each their own. We have data to show that once Paladins went to the Horde it effectively led to a major decline in the Alliance population.
Proprietary isn’t a bad thing. Paladins and Shamans in SoD are a major example. Not only does it ensure there is a discussion that both Classes are balanced (due to PvP purposes) it also keeps people wanting to play EITHER faction because both are attractive.
Once that goes out the window, people will just migrate to one faction and you have effectively created Retail WoW once gain.
Yeah I think Classic+ really needs to have Paladin and Shaman for both if it hopes to provide something new and fun for Classic players. Finally you won’t be stuck going Horde if you want to play a Shaman or Alliance if you want to try a paladin. You can still play with your friends/guildies and try out that class.
But why add an entire race when things like Gift of Gob are fun little trinkets to obtain and give practically the same effect?
please no
we don’t need any fancy gimmicks like new races
this is the trouble we got into with the dang expansions
all we need is azeroth finished and polished up. please. this isn’t difficult or complicated.
Yup would be nice
Good way to expand on Azeroth itself. Personally, I think races up to cata* should be doable to make more classic versions of
Same with classes a classic take on DK or Monk would be pretty neat
“A fresh era server that nobody cares about”
I agree
i mean, why not? in early development phases WoW had a third faction (Not race, faction) of goblins and ogres which got scrapped because of balance issues. Maybe its time to add a third faction to the game
Only if it’s Dwarf for Shaman and Forsaken for Paladin.
They should just scrap the whole, current, Racials and make them Specialties.
You would get to pick 1 Weapon specialty, 1 Passive, and 1 Active. But would have the option to change them for a steep fee (100g per Specialty) which would buy the Specialty Book you want to learn from, and maybe a crafted elixir (obviously Alchemist profession) to ‘unlearn’ the existing Specialty you have.
Blood elves and paladins, please
why are they high? drugs are bad mmkay.
Of course. Those are the two that make the most sense for a Classic feel.
Bunch of Quel’dorei mana addicts. Magic is a hell of a drug.
