ConsolePort on a Mac, plz help!

Ok so I'm just coming back into WoW and as I was grabbing up the addons from Curse again I stumbled upon ConsolePort and thought that would be awesome since I prefer controllers over keyboards (hate me if you want, I'm already playing on a Mac so I obviously don't care lol).

Problem is, I'm computer illiterate! To get ConsolePort to work you apparently need to download something called WoWmapper, but the piece of sh*t thing doesn't work on Macs for w/e stupid reason. The only alternatives are these programs called Joystick Mapper and ControllerMate.

I've downloaded them both, separately, but I'm COMPLETELY lost! For WoWmapper apparently WoW itself just uploads the keybindings and whatnot so it lines up right away, but not for the only Mac options! You have to start from scratch, essentially manually programming your controller into your computer, adn as I said I'm computer illiterate so I have no god freakin' clue wtf to do!

And ofc there are ZERO youtube vids or even guides on Google or anything that helps out with it, the ONLY ones of the very few either completely skip over the incredibly freakin' important part of WTF TO DO WITH THESE THINGS, or they only show how to program the controller to a first person shooter, which is obviously incredibly different then WoW or any MMO. And the thing is it looks like you set up what your buttons do in the game with the addon, but for these stupid programs you MUST set them up before it even tries to work with the game, so I'm at a complete impass cause I have no idea how these things work or how I'm supposed to simultaneously set up bindings in and out of the game when I can't do anything in the game until it's already set up outside of it......

Any help or suggestions? Maybe a map of how anyone else has ControllerMate mapped out, tips on how to get WoWmapper to work (WHILE STAYING ON THE MAC, I'm not getting or building a PC just for this... so don't bother saying it), or even some way to bypass these stupid freakin' programs?

I don't know if steam works in Mac... But when I'm feeling lazy or leveling I use my steam box and controller. Only thing I had to download was the console port mod.

Really? How much does a steam controller cost?

Did you figure out another way not using wowmapper?
The Consoleport webpage has a support article for using it with a Mac OSX, since it can't use WoWMapper like you said.

Read through that carefully and give it a try.

Even if you say you're computer illiterate, none of us got computer knowledge right out of the womb. It's a skill you learn with practice, so try working with that guide since getting WoW to work with your gamepad sounds like an important issue for you.
hi dude, i had the same trouble and after reading so much i found the answer, so, here is the manual configuration (link at the end of my comment) (look the control image) so, dats the configuration you have to put on your template (on joystick mapper) with exactly the same configuration that the image

for example X (on the controller) should be the key (on keyboard) F12 (talking about xbox, but you understand) so, here is the link :)

Consoles?
The controller and pad I have each have applications/control panel that map out what each input does for a given "target" application. You have no software with your controller?
Can someone help me do this but on a mac with a PS4 controller. I don't know what to do?

Dude, I knowww!! I give up, seriously… I guess they just hate SONY and Mac and left us for dead there. If anyone comes out with a solution It’d be amazing. I, specifically bought a PS4 controller for this purpose and now I guess I’m just stuck with STEAM.

UPDATE
I just read Shadowlands is gonna support controllers! Maybe then we won’t need a third party thing that’s compatible with Mac…(?) 20 days to find out.

Holy necro.
