It’s 10pm in Western Australia. How much further West does the OCE region include?
Ok I looked it up. It includes Indonesia, where it’s currently 9pm. So yeah, that sucks for downtime on a friday night.
Why did the servers go down today? Realm restarts? I had no idea otherwise until I saw the realm shutdown message.

7AM maintenance is 12AM for Eastern Australia, and 10PM for Western Australia. 2AM for the kiwis. Where are you from?

For OCE, it’s usually at midnight
At 12 AM on the dot to be precise, that the shutdowns happen … 
I get that it’s frustrating with daily shutdowns since pre-patch, but 12 AM is probably the quietest time for the majority of OCE players & thus most logical to do them. lol

It’s been happening 12 AM almost every night since Pre-patch.
This isn’t exactly a ‘Fridays-only’ ordeal. lol
2-3 hours from now would be the best time for all. Still early in US and late in OCE.
Okay but then since you want that soooooo badly, how about you book a trip to SoCal .
Then from there, stomp your way into their office and see how much the workers like getting up a 1 am to go to the office.
No matter when they do it someone is going to be inconvenienced. It is what it is.

OCE includes all of SEA also, aside from NZ where it is 2AM, eastern Australia has the latest time of midnight, everything else is prior to midnight when raiding is happening, and not just raiding, but it’s Friday night for the entire OCE.
We’ve accepted for 20 years to have Tuesday as basically a nothing day, but it’s a little ridiculous for Friday to be taken away also.
For many it’s just not worth playing, you form your raid, you start killing some and the servers go out, it could be 15 minutes, it could be the entire hour, it’s a real downer.
2-3 hours later would not magically make it 1AM for SoCal. It’s a 7AM outage, 2-3 hours later would be 9-10AM, and if you want to be nice to the entire OCE, you would go for something like a midday SoCal outage time, that would mean no one would have to wake up and be in the office at 7AM and for most players it would be either too early or too late for any real impact.
Midnight AEST is just the worst time for OCE to drop the server, and too early for staff to be in the office.
