Considering RP here

Like I said, “Tri-state American”. Some are fast talking criminal types. Others are blue collar workers. Others still are wealthy status seeking socialites. There’s a lot of character archetypes that can be pulled out of the Tri-state area and most all of them are workable for a “stereotypical goblin”.

A lot of people play up the obsession with work/money, but honestly, if you live in the US, you already live in a society where you’re expected to work far more with fewer protections than citizens of other country (that or get rich quick) while still having to pay out of pocket for practically everything, including life saving medical treatment. :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, in a couple of days, almost every American is going to be shooting guns and rockets into the air, resulting in the highest single day rate for injuries in the year. Sounds pretty Goblin to me!

Oh wow, you’re actually right. I also have a business administration degree so I do understand basic economics which is something I think a goblin would know about. Could translate most of what I know into my character. This is a lot of thinking I’m going to have to do before I can make anything :open_mouth:

So many concepts that seem like fun.

I definitely think I’ll have to do that. Maybe make one of every race and just see how I like what I make. I do still have plenty of character slots.

Modern Universe Gul’dan was a Shadowmoon Orc, and he was as green as green can be!

As long as your orc’s ancestry is from the main timeline of Outland, not WoD Draenor, you’ll be totally fine playing a green Shadowmoon Orc imo!

The crux is that they would have been fel corrupted at some point. So they or their ancestors would have drank some demon blood!

Also this is an image of Ner’zhul, the Shadowmoon leader, from BC. He was clearly green.

Now I have too many options! I am not sure what one to start on first. I personally am a huge sucker for longer-term RP and romance stories. Perhaps I should start with either orc, troll, or belf for more comfortable characters I can fall back on. You guys have been very warm and welcoming by the way! I very much appreciate that.

Just saw this too! Sin’dorei are amazing so they’re also fun. And hey if you ever feel like doing a bit of Alliance and Horde, with new Void Elf customisations coming you could play an elf on each faction. Maybe they’re related :stuck_out_tongue:

That can be an exciting thing, in a way! Lots of things to try out and explore! I wish you luck in finding the one that clicks - the one that’s perfect for you

I’m glad we’ve been able to help  Seriously this is a great realm and I hope you come to enjoy it here.

As I was getting a Slim Jim and some soda I said in my head, “Hey, while I’m leveling I can set up IC encounters on the forums for funsies. I’m sure people would love to engage that way and I can get started slowly! Maybe even make friends :>”

Would people like that?

I’d say go for it. I don’t know how many people will see the thread and/or take you up on it, but there’s only one way to find out. I’ll see if I have anyone to interact with whatever characters you decide to put forth!

Sounds like a fun idea with lots of themes you could do.

I’d say go for it, people are generally excited for more open world RP.

You should also totally make a strawpoll for what race you should prioritize making a shaman.

Okay! Let’s do a straw poll then

But this is the correct opinion? Tauren are a close followup.

I forgot to include the Alliance races in my poll. I have, strangely enough, not heard from any Alliance players to play that side. Is Horde way more active?

On WRA yes, but both communities are are pretty guild oriented. So if you find an RP guild on either and get immersed into them, it’ll be a similar experience. There are more RP opportunities Horde side. If you’re looking for walkup RP, Horde is the way to go, but it does exist on Alliance.

For Alliance race, you’re already playing the best race. (no bias)

True! I could just xfer this character over to Wyrmrest. So many options available.

I haven’t read through the thread, but in case someone hasn’t already mentioned it…please consider rolling an alt first and get a taste for both communties before transferring :orange_heart:

RPers don’t have a level bias…I mean some do…but they’re weird unless they only RP in the current expansion zones.

It’s also important to remember that we’re a PST server if you don’t share this timezone.

This is the only time I’ve mentioned the possibility of xferring, but earlier Eledris said I should run with every idea I have and see which ones I like the most.

It’s good advice  It’s always good to make sure you’ll have fun over here before committing.

Yeah my first toon was a low level Pandaren mage named Laoku on allyside. Tried it out, had fun, THEN transferred all my alts. Can be the best way to test the waters.

Awesome  That makes sense. The only thing I’m really dreading is the leveling bit.

Yet another character to level! Hopefully it’ll be worth it ;3

Then again I just found characters in my delete menu for restoration I absolutely don’t remember making! I brought back a 74 belf hunter for now. Let’s go

This is the character that I restored. I don’t think I RP’d her at all since I didn’t even hit max level. Apparently I made her in 2018 though! Can’t wait to get started.
