So, dare I say it, I’m excited that BFD is going to be a 10-man raid. I think this is awesome! However, I gotta say that one of the things I really like about the early game is the dungeon diversity that exists there. This starts to thin out as you level and in some brackets you really only have one place to go, but early on you have a lot of choice.
By replacing BFD 5-man with a 10-man raid it just cuts down on some of that choice. I’m not sure if there’s a technical limitation here, but is it possible for both to co-exist?
I wonder if it does. BFD already allows parties of 10, so I’ll be interested to see whether there’s a new entrance to a new raid, or if they’ve just made a different mode or what.
It’s my understanding from the info surrounding this that it’s a replacement, so not just a different mode. I’d happily be wrong here but I have fair reason to believe that BFD as a dungeon is just gone.
Totally, and regardless of this, I’m excited to check out what’s happening in SoD
I’ve seen claims that BFD is “For sure replaced” due to the demo at Blizzcon not prompting for a type and just zoning them to raid BFD, but hopefully I’m wrong or it wasn’t finished.
Would be a shame to lose SM and Gnomer when they release. Hell, I would suspect they’ll have a raid version of BRD later and it would be a literal crime to delete the dungeon
While I absolutely love it, I know a lot of people could happily leave Gnomer behind… but they couldn’t get rid of SM. It’s really the only leveling dungeon for most of its range. You can get a bit of mileage out of Gnomer before and RFD after, but SM is such a staple!
Also 100% agree on BRD. My Era Paladin is almost 60 and I’ve been doing a lot of runs in there… and absolutely loving it! My favourite dungeon in the entire game, including retail. It’s just so much adventure!
You would think they would utilize all those “non working zone areas” like by the castle in SW and the other one by Baron in undead strat. Thats what the classic players meant by classic+ not this monstrosity they are pushing… sign… whatever though… I’m thinking this doesn’t last as after level cap folks will just leave SoD.
It’s definitely gone and it sucks because they put a heavy reliance on fish oil for unlocking one of your runes as well, this was the best place to farm fish oil, especially for horde. Now you either have to swim around killing murlocs in the ocean or go farm it outside of an alliance outpost where you will surely have a bad time.
Making whole new instances takes more time. Blizzard is going to drop new raid and PvP content every two months with a shoestring budget until they can prove to the executives that they need more money to keep the gravy train going.
