Putting it simply: treat Consecration like the Frost DK’s Remorseless Winter
Have it focus around the paladin, give us an ability that causes its duration to extend by 0.5 seconds for every HP spent to a cap, increases damage dealt by 10%, and causes it to grow by 1 yrd for every spender, to a cap. Keep almost everything else the same.
The idea is that we drop Consecration and then pop abilities around it which boost it for a bit, giving it extra bite in AoE encounters and potentially giving it a single-target use.

At the very least just make it operate like Remorseless Winter in terms of being a pulsing aoe that is centered on the player.
I recommended something similar to this in another thread as well.
They could have just brought back Divine Hammer but they decided to put all of this dev time into consecration. I’m just not sure it’ll work out well.

It’s better then what’s purposed currently in the tree. Nice work
They just need to bring the old Cata version back. It whats it was doing and it was the best

Or, if they give an option to do a Holy Nova and that leaves a debuff to the enemies and has the same effect as a Consecration. For a holy paladin you can do the same and heal allies in case you have the talent active.

I suggested having consecrate follow with crusader aura on in a thread as well. I don’t know why they seem to hate divine hammer, I loved it. Ret needs all the passive cleave it can get.
